This particular bit of nastiness (crapping in a burgled house or other building) is actually quite common. It tells you something about the mindset of the criminals who do it. I don't agree with the sentence of probation and cleaning the jail toilets. He should have gotten jail time. Perhaps he could have cleaned the jail toilets while doing the time, although that duty might well be left as paid work for prisoners who are serious about trying to straighten out.

Defecation by burglars is quite common. However, it is more to do with biology than mind-set.
The actual act of breaking in causes a lower-intestinal reaction due to the rush of adrenaline, not unlike the effect of too much caffeine first thing in the morning.
It is one indicator to police that the intruder was more of an amatuer, than a professional.
Time to move on this thread. :-)
