Search for Saddam's stashed millions remains futile (as elusive as WMDs)

Search for Saddam's stashed millions remains futile

Press Trust of India Washington, February 20

The search for between $2 and 40 billion that former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein reportedly stashed away has proven to be as elusive as the search for weapons of mass destruction.

The US has recovered almost nothing of the billions Hussein and his family supposedly squirreled away after a hunt of nearly a year, The Wall Street Journal reported.

The Treasury had reported Saddam's hidden funds, but nothing has been traced so far.

Jeremy P Carver, a British attorney who represented Kuwait in its damage claims against Iraq, pointed out that for ten years after the first Gulf War in 1991, the collective skills of Western intelligence services were directed very, very substantially at finding Iraqi funds.

"They became convinced, there was nothing left," says Carver.

Maybe it's hidden under an assumed named..... Wonder if they have tried looking under W. J. or H. R. Clinton.

We don't have to be too nice about getting information from Saddam. Let's junk all that "Civil Rights Protection" for such people outside of our country. Let's get really, really mean about how we can get reliable information. Such as electrodes on the nuts, etc. Cattle prods inserted into the anus, etc.

Keep in mind this is an article from an Indian source that would love to drive a wedge between the US and Pakistan.
