RUSH: Let me ask you, folks, a question here. And this is a cut-to-the-chase. I've asked this question before, but in light of Terry McAuliffe with all he's saying, which candidate do you think Al-Qaeda might root for in this election, John Kerry (should he be the Democratic nominee), or George W. Bush? Do you think Al-Qaeda is focused on Kerry's war record, or his 19 years in the Senate or his current anti-war propaganda and all of his anti-war votes? And do you think Al-Qaeda kind of enjoys John Kerry saying let's take our defense and give it to the UN and the French and the Germans?
Do you think Al-Qaeda might be interested in that? Do you think Al-Qaeda is focused on George Bush's National Guard service, or his unrelenting war on them as commander-in-chief? This is the context you people need to be thinking about this in. Let's not get sidetracked by all this attempt to obfuscate and get everybody's attention off what's ahead of us. What's ahead of us is Al-Qaeda, who hijacks our airplanes and flies them into our buildings. And Al-Qaeda got away with this for a whole bunch of years. When Bill Clinton was in the office, there was hardly ever any response to them.
So you think Al-Qaeda is going to be more interested in Kerry and his war record, or his votes as a senator? Do you think Al-Qaeda is going to be more interested in Bush and his National Guard service, or his service as commander-in-chief? And between Kerry and Bush, or Edwards and Bush, who do you think Al-Qaeda might hope to win this election? And how might Al-Qaeda choose to impact our election in this country? This is what you have to think about. This is who the enemy is. This is what we're fighting. If Democrats want to cast themselves as anti-war and anti-American superpower, let 'em - and let 'em get mad when we call 'em on it.

RUSH: We have a cell phone call from New Jersey. It's Mike. Welcome, sir. Nice to have you with us.
CALLER: Hey, Rush, you're a great American. It's an honor to talk to you.
RUSH: Thank you, sir.
CALLER: I've got a question for you. Actually, it's really a concern. With this new probe on weapons of mass destruction and the intelligence that Bush had at his disposal, I'm concerned - and combined with the rising casualties in Iraq - that this is going to adversely affect Bush's chance of reelection.
RUSH: Well, I mean if you want to say that, there are a lot of things that you could say about things going on that might adversely affect Bush's reelection, but I don't think that's the question. And, by the way, George Tenet is making a speech tomorrow at Georgetown University. (story) He's going to answer all this, charges the CIA is inept and doesn't know what they're doing. You know, to get to the bottom of this, you've got to find out who's been populating the CIA and who's been putting people in there.
Look, I'm getting sidetracked. The question about weapons of mass destruction is real simple as far as I'm concerned: Where are they? Not, "Did they exist?" Okay, David Kay goes over there for nine months. He didn't talk to people who claim to know where they are. This is not to put him down. He went over there for nine months. We know there were weapons of mass destruction because they were used. We have too many bodies around the world who have used them, seen them, thought they existed - the British intelligence, the United Nations, all kinds of countries, not just Bush.
Clinton thought they existed. John Kerry thought they existed. All the Democrats want to act like they always knew they didn't exist but they've always supported going in and finding out about them and getting them. So the real, the only question to me about these weapons of mass destruction, folks - and this is the only question I'm interested in, because I don't have any doubt they existed - is, "Where are they?" And if you don't like that question, then I'll give you another one. "What happened to them?" Because it's not arguable they existed, or exist.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK 2:54)
Once again, my friends, a very simple question: "Who does Al-Qaeda fear more?" You know, it's no different than, "Who did the Iranian terrorists prefer, Jimmy Carter or Ronald Reagan?" Who are the Iranian terrorists more afraid of, Jimmy Carter or Ronald Reagan? They were so afraid of Reagan, they let the hostages go, as soon as Jimmy Carter was gone. So you just got to stay focused on this stuff. You can't allow this mainstream press - this is not just coverage of what's going on. This is sponsorship.
There is a media sponsorship of this Democratic primary. It distinguishes itself from coverage in that there is a vested interest in the outcome. It's not just a bunch of guys standing on the corner watching who wins the Democratic race. It's a bunch of guys who have a vested interest in who wins it, and as such it's the only story that matters to them. That primary has taken Michael Jackson off their minds, Martha Stewart off their minds, Kobe Bryant off their minds. This is big stuff to them. Don't let their focus become yours. Let my focus be yours.
He will again.
