But state wildlife officials fear the way the hunts are conducted may be slowly eroding the numbers of the Eastern Diamondback rattlesnake.
One can only hope...

It would not bother me in the least if every venomous snake ceased to exist. I've done my part to help ensure that.

A Water Moccasin Round Up would be a good thing too, but these people would worry if Black Widow spiders were endangered.

Snakes deserve to live, too. These public executions of live things is disgusting. Kind of reminds me of Romans laughing at christians being torn apart by lions and tigers in the coliseum. Slaughtering a cow in a meat packing facility is one thing, but to make a public spectacle of killing animals it is another. And I'm a hard core conservative, gun toting, pro hunting SOB. I just have lots of respect for animals.

Rattlesnake flatulence is destroying the Ozone layer and causing Global warming. I am going to do my part for the environment by rounding them up, skinning, and deep fat frying these babies. They are best when dipped in my special batter and served with BB-Que sauce, fries, and cole slaw. I need your help. I am only one man and I can't catch, prepare, and eat them all.
Rattlesnake, it's not just for breakfast anymore.

All they need to do is go to Washington, DC, and visit the DNC headquarters. They will find plenty of snakes in the grass.
Oh, Rats!!! I will have to go out into the woods and find a snake to apologize for that wisecrack. Calling the demwits a bunch of snakes in the grass is clearly insulting to snakes.

Me too.
Hopefully, the snakes will bite a large number of these stupid people and cleanse the gene pool.

I totally agree with you. I'm far from an environmentalist whacko, but I don't see why it's necessary to kill the snakes.
We have a roundup in Pennsylvania where all of the snakes are returned to the wild.

I totally agree with you. I'm far from an environmentalist whacko, but I don't see why it's necessary to kill the snakes. My husband is VERY into snakes. He is actually a public speaker going around educating people about snakes. He catches venomous snakes and donates them to the Venom Toxin Research Center at Texas A&M, where they are finding snake venom is helping in cancer research and blood clots.

kill all of the snakes and you will be overrun with rats and mice. I prefer to have the snakes. They will not come near people intentionally, whereas the rats and mice will invade your home.

That sounds even worse! Just think of all the snakes in PA that are slithering around telling near-death stories. Their blood pressure must be through the roof!

Im with you, no need to kill them. Catch them sure, educate the population on how to avoid them sure, milk their venom (used of course for the antidote to a bite) sure, then let them go.
