You're right. "Homicide" is more accurate than the less hateful "suicide." These are people saturated in hate. Living to die. Sick people, in need of a Physician.

Get it riught. These are HOMICIDE bombers. As opposed to what other kind of bombers?
Suicide is an appropriate qualifier for bomber , since homicide is the point of most bombings, whether in wartime or peacetime, by terrorists or soldiers. What makes these bombings unique, their unique qualifier, is that the means of delivery is a suicide.

Update, less than 2 hours old:
Seven killed as twin suicide bombings rip through Iraqi Kurdish city
AFP
ARBIL, Iraq, Feb 1 (AFP) - 11h14 - Two suicide bombers blew themselves up, killing at least seven people, including senior Kurdish officials, in the northern Iraqi city of Arbil on Sunday, medics, witnesses and party sources said.
The bombers entered separately the offices of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and the Kurdistan Democractic Party (KDP) and detonated their explosives amid lax security because of the start of a major Muslim festival.
"Five people from the KDP were killed and many wounded," a hospital source told AFP in this Kurdish city 350 kilometres (220 miles) north of Baghdad.
PUK sources said two other bodies were found in the ruins of the office.
Witnesses said that among the dead were a senior member of each party, Saad Abdallah from the KDP, and Shahwan Abbas from the PUK.
The two bombs went off within five minutes of each other, at the two offices in the centre of Arbil, 10 kilometres (six miles) apart.
The blast rocked the city as its residents began celebrating the first day of the Muslim Eid al-Adha holiday, the feast of the sacrifice.
On December 24 a suicide bomber killed two policemen and a civilian as well as himself and wounded another 15 when he blew up his pick-up truck outside interior ministry offices in Arbil.
An earlier attack on the same building on October 16 was foiled when guards shot dead the driver of an explosives-laden vehicle before he could detonate it.

What makes these bombings unique, their unique qualifier, is that the means of delivery is a suicide.Suicude is singular. Homcide is singular/plural.
Got it?

You're smarter than that, Laz. It ain't just AQ, it's the mullahs and the politicians and the so-called "royal families" and the lowest enablers among them and they're everywhere.
These people have mastered the arts of the cutout and misdirection to a level that makes Dick Nixon look like an amatuer and would turn a Mafia don green with envy.
F'm all.

That is a big difference in numbers. I hope AFP has better info in this case.
To: XHogPilot
The last two datelines on that site uses Arbil and Irbil in stories. If you look at the map I linked it seems to be one in the same. ??
To: XHogPilot
No, it's a happy chipper PUK website right now.
To: Glenn
Suicide is singular. How could it be plural???
To: leadpenny
Spelling is always a problem. Different alphabets, take you pick.

Arbil and Irbil are one and the same. Irbil will be the first city in Iraq to get scheduled air service via Iraq Airlines, or so it was announced last week.
The entire mountainous region north and east of Mosul was autonomous Kurdish territory prior to Op Iraqi Freedom. PUK and KDP are the two remaining significant political parties there. PUK and KDP have both operated in a "sane" manner for quite some time now. PKK (Communist Party), was pretty mangled by Kurdish infighting and military efforts of Turkey. Not likely any of these would be party to this bombing - more likely Kurdish-Iranian Islamists or Baathists.

more than 140 now! governor is among them.

AP has updated their headline: Twin Bombings Kill at Least 57 in Iraq
The link now provides a much more in-depth article also.
To: hawe
Very fluid, I guess. Where did the 140 figure come from?
