January 31, 2004 -- Longtime rumors that Saddam Hussein bribed key foreign dignitaries - including top French officials - have apparently been confirmed by documents found in Iraq. The documents, first published last week by the al Mada newspaper in Baghdad, include a list of 270 individuals and organizations from 50 countries, all of whom apparently received vouchers for millions of barrels of oil.

Looks like Saddam was paying Ritter, using this other guy as a funnel.

It would seem to me that the list of people who took these bribes should be the next ones searched for WMD. A little money, a little ricin, it's all the same to these people.

didn't the corrupt character played by Claude Raines end up showing his
hidden moral fiber at the end of the film...starting a "beautiful relationship"
to help the American "Rick" to carry on the subversive fight against the Nazis?

Do you think that Kerry, Clark or Dean will change their position on giving the UN more say in our foreign policy? Russian and French nationals were the largest recipients and both countries have veto power in the Security Council. Besides these oil vouchers France also benefited from the Food For Oil program by having had about four billion dollars deposited in their banks some of which may still be there.

Well, the dimocrats certainly aren't going to say that Bush was right. They may use the euphemism "International Cooperation" as a surrogate for the U.N. This scandal has a stench factor that may be unrivalled in recent history (which includes the Clintons) but being against "International Cooperation" will still sound like being against mom and apple pie.
