Personally, the energy is best spent putting Conservative members of Congress in place, to get Bush onto a more Conservative agenda.

How is that to be done if the national GOP uses all its influence to discourage conservative candidates.

Reagan was a pragmatist. If FR was here 20 years ago, the same hysterical(i.e "true conservatives") would be calling for Reagan's head.

What I do not understand is there are a lot of conservitive Republicans in congress. It makes no sense to jump party when the Republicans are conservitive.

Lets think of how far we have come in the past ten years. We are the dominant party and will be for years to come. If you have a beef change whats there, not change parties. America is on the right track and if they do not think Bush is conservitive they must be nuts.

Thanks for the constructive criticism and the spirit in which it was offered.

The Constitution Party National Committee decided to not focus their energy on the 2004 presidential race. Rather, we've been working on local races since 2000. I can say for certain we've won some local partisan races since then -- all part of the process to build the local party organizations. Meanwhile, the Bush reality distortion field holds its traction on most good conservative leaders who fear being cut off from access more than repudiating the principles they once believe.

Perhaps the Constitution Party isn't growing in your area because your talents are needed. How bad will it get in the GOP until *you* do something?

If this was a Conservative gathering place, why are you espousing others to join up with some irrelevant third party?

Doing so would fragment Conservatives into a half dozen irrelevant third parties, allowing Democrats to hijack the Republican party, which has stood for Conservative values for decades.

No, see normy, you just don't get it. These folks want what they want, when they want it, and to hades with all else.

Take it from me, an Independent Rightist (who happens to be quite optimistic, BTW). The votes I cast for the GOP are cast because the probability of getting what I want enacted is much closer to 1 than if I stayed home, voted for a RAT (shudder), or any other party.

I know I can't get all that I want. But a sandwich without mayo is better than no sandwich at all.
