Ijaz: Spectacular WMD Attack Planned for Iraq

Plans for a spectacular attack on coalition forces in Iraq that would use chemical or biological weapons to kill up to 5,000 soldiers and civilians may be well under way, Fox News Mideast analyst Mansoor Ijaz is warning.

"I have now heard three times in the last week, from separate sources that I have been talking to, that something big is being planned for Baghdad," Ijaz told Fox News "Special Report" host Brit Hume on Tuesday.

"The idea that is being put forward is to kill as many as 3,000 to 5,000 people at one shot – something that would be similar to a World Trade Center type of attack," he said.

Ijaz, who in December 2001 blew the lid off the Clinton administration's decision not to accept multiple offers for Osama bin Laden's extradition to the U.S., detailed the accounts of Kurdish sources, who say they intercepted a convoy carrying suspicious cargo.

"About three days ago in the northern part of Iraq," said Ijaz, "a convoy of trucks and jeeps and cars was brought across from Iran, where some of the Kurdish Peshmerga [are]. ... They intercepted one of those trucks that were carrying a large warhead that had extremely sophisticated plastic – C-4 plastic explosives in it."

Ijaz said that once interrogated, the driver admitted that there were a total of 30 warheads that were scheduled to be imported to Iraq from Iran.

"We are told now that somewhere between six and 12 of them may have, in fact, been laden with chemical explosives that would be then attached to a rocket of some sort inside Iraq that's already there in a separate convoy."

The whereabouts of both convoys is currently unknown, said Ijaz.

How credible are his sources?

"They're unimpeachable," he told Hume. "I think they've been right all along."

One has to wonder about the intellectual capability of the Muslim mind. The last time they did a WMD attack, 2 countries were overthrown, and thousands of their followers were killed. You would think they would learn.

So, if this attack were to occur, and if only 1 person got a paper-cut; but the attack were chemical, a few more countries will soon be under new management.

Surround each and every one of our blessed Military with a shield of angels, to deflect and protect any harm that comes their way. Give special instincts to those who are attempting to track these warheads and the trucks that brought them across the border in Iraq from Iran. Make these trucks shine on their screens and show them precisely where they are. Guard them as they interdict the trucks and if the warheads have been removed, guide them to the precise location of these weapons.

As every soldier goes about their job today, give them a special sense of awareness, of super-perception, super-sight, super-hearing. If there are Iraqis who know the whereabouts of these warheads, propel them forth to reveal to coalition forces where they are.

Those two countries are sent US tax money now.

Yes, there was a change in management but noone really knows who is in charge or who will be in charge of them.

They hijack and crash our own planes loaded with our people into the Trade Center and Pentagon burning civilians there alive and then we give quarter to them on the battlefield and then treat them like civilians with legal rights, and the right to practice their "religion" while in captivity.

I wonder about our minds.

Letting them surrender is negotiating with terrorists.

And they used false surrenders to stage attacks.

And the bad guys launch more attacks to try to get their people out of jail.

Life in jail for Lee Malvo, and Zacharius Mussaui still on trial, these guys should have been terminated already.

You do realize that this story actually broke and the appearance on Brit's show was on 1/13/04? I'm not sure how truthful or how much integrity is shown by putting a false date on the story. I would hope it was just an honest mistake, but notice the lack of a link. Why cut and paste a story, but not include a link to the source?

I find this ludicrous, which doesn't mean the jihadis aren't planning such a thing.

Coalition forces and civilians are all equipped with chem warfare suits and masks. They have medicines that are effective against many biochem substances and are trained to deal with biochem attacks.

So if this goes as stated, the vast majority of the victims will be Iraqui Muslims.
