I was listening to Rush and the Human Rights Campain, (a homosexual lobby group) had a Radio ad quoting conservatives and misquoting some I believe. These leftist groups were portraying themselves as "conservative" advocates to not amend the constitution. They were saying that protecting marrige trivializes the constitution. (like making 18 the age of majority was trivial?)
They ignore that Marriage is now a federal issue. They ignore that the FMA returns the issue to the states.
It is ironic that the Homosexuals feel so threatened by the FMA that they would advertise during the Rush Limbaugh show with a scare ad.
They did not attack the substance of defining marriage as one man or one woman. They did not address the out of control courts. No mention of full faith and credit making this a federal issue. Their "conservative" apeal did not state these groups activly support homosexual marriage.
Just a warning for those listening and what those who are the enemies of marriage have resorted to.

This is going to be an issue in 2004 and Dean is the poster child for homosexual special rights.

I too believe that gratuitously amending the Constitution is a dangerous thing to do.
The phrase "unintended consequences" comes to mind.
The gay marriage thing can be handled politically and legislatively, just as the Constitution intended.
The more amendments you add, the more diluted and convoluted the Constitution becomes.

So the HRC thinks it can sue in state and federal courts, bypassing legislatures, to redefine culture for all, but we cannot use the federal and state legislative process to stop them? Hmmm...
The problem is, courts are ignoring the clear intent of written and established law in support of radical agendas. All the FMA will do is put the power back in the hands of the people.
Nearly every political win the queers have acheived has come from the hands of the courts. The people have had no say. The FMA will be long and difficult to pass. If it does, then the people have spoken and representative gov't has been restored.
Interestingly, the queers think the constitution, which cannot be bothered with trivia such as this, currently supports their every whim. It's time for the people to define those shadows that have been showing up in the imaginations of power-hungry judges.

This is the living contitution the way the founding fathers intended. When an issue arrises, the constitution will change. This is the "living" part when slavery was abolished.
The left wants to be able to hide and play games. The homosexuals are already starting their strategy for WHEN the FMA. They will then do a state by state battle. Then they will get the homosexual favoring states to recognize each other's homosexual special rights.
But that would take time and still keep homosexuals as a tolerated but not accepted sexual behavior.

The gay marriage thing can be handled politically and legislatively,Just like in Vermont where the legislature was ORDERED by the courts to act, so they came up with civil unions.
Or maybe just like in Massachucetts where the courts have ordered that legislature to act in favor of the queers.
Ect...
The problem is NOT being handled politically because the speech police in the media makes it very difficult for open discussion to take place (Rick Santorum for example). It is not being handled legislatively becuase the courts are legislating from the bench.
The Amendment will restore the political and legislative processes of which you speak.

Before Mass you may have had a point. However your old analysis is not longer valid. Full faith and credit threatens to impose the south african massachusets judge's personal belief in favor of imposing homosexual acceptance on all states and jurisdictions.
It is a federal issue. It is no longer a state issue.

They ignore that Marriage is now a federal issue. They ignore that the FMA returns the issue to the states. The FMA would not return the issue of marriage to the states. To the contrary, the FMA would prohibit state legislatures from legislating in this area. Don't believe everything you read in the media. Look it up for yourself.
If you have not had a chance to study the proposed amendment, you can read the text of it at allianceformarriage.org (it has a pop up; don't give them your email address), which is the website of the group promoting the amendment.

This was broadcast again on Rush. Is this being done to give Rush a financial incentive to not talk about homosexual marriage or the constitutional amendment. Whether it is true or not, it gives the impression that Rush is not adressing the issue.

Broadcast AGAIN.
The arguemtn is this gives MORE power to the fed.
The FMA takes power AWAY from the fed. It gives it to the states and also REMOVES the full faith and credit (a federal power) from the equation.
Don't let this homosexual sponsored commercial fool you with their outright lies!
