UNDERSTANDING CLARK

Making Sense Of Clark's Conspiracy Theories Is No Easy Feat and TAKE TWO: Clark's Continuing Conspiracy Theories

__________________________________________________________

CLARK CONSPIRACY NO. 18

MR. CLARK: “[I]t came from the White House, it came from people around the White House. … I got a call on 9/11. I was on CNN, and I got a call at my home saying, ‘You got to say this is connected … to Saddam Hussein.’” (NBC’s “Meet The Press,” 6/15/03)

QUESTION: Who is “around” the White House?

CLARK CONSPIRACY NO. 17

MR. CLARK: “I never got any of these calls from the White House. I got a call from Canada, from a man who was running a Middle East think tank …” (WDUN’s “The Martha Zoller Show,” 7/1/03)

QUESTION: Is Canada “around the White House”?

CLARK CONSPIRACY NO. 16

MR. CLARK: “A man from a – of a Middle East think tank in Canada, the man who’s the brother of a very close friend of mine in Belgium. He’s very well connected to Israeli intelligence.” (MSNBC’s “Buchanan And Press,” 8/25/03)

QUESTION: Is your very close friend’s brother a source for any of your other theories?

CLARK CONSPIRACY NO. 15

MR. CLARK: “The White House, actually back in February, apparently tried to get me knocked off CNN.” (Newsradio 620 KTAR, 8/25/03 As Reported On Fox News’ “Special Report,” 8/26/03)

QUESTION: Aren’t you confusing the Bush White House with the Clinton White House, which actually did relieve you from duty?

CLARK CONSPIRACY NO. 14

MR. CLARK: “[Being relieved from NATO Command] was, Clark says, a setup, engineered by [Defense Secretary] Cohen’s office and by the Chiefs. As for Clinton, ‘He was hornswoggled.’” (Peter J. Boyer, “General Clark’s Battles,” The New Yorker, 11/17/03)

QUESTION: Are you suggesting Bill Clinton, the Commander in Chief of the United States, was tricked into firing you?

CLARK CONSPIRACY NO. 13

MR. CLARK: “First of all, I wasn’t relieved [from NATO Command].” (MSNBC’s “Hardball,” 12/8/03))

QUESTION: Because it was a trick?

CLARK CONSPIRACY NO. 12

MR. CLARK: “[H]e says, this is Bradley Graham from The Washington Post, and we have an official authorized Pentagon news leak that you’ll be replaced” (MSNBC’s “Hardball,” 12/8/03)

QUESTION: What exactly is an “official authorized news leak”?

CLARK CONSPIRACY NO. 11

MR. CLARK: “The Secretary of Defense had to leak his own memo to explain that we have no strategy to deal with terrorism …” (Wesley Clark, Remarks To Center For American Progress, 10/28/03)

QUESTION: Was it common practice when you were NATO Commander to leak memos to explain strategy?

CLARK CONSPIRACY NO. 10

MR. CLARK: “Well, that’s [Rumsfeld leaking his memo] what the rumor is, and it’s been talked about on the Sunday talk shows.” (Wesley Clark, Remarks To Center For American Progress, 10/28/03)

QUESTION: Is your favorite album “Rumors” by Fleetwood Mac?

CLARK CONSPIRACY NO. 9

MR. CLARK: “I went back through the Pentagon in November 2001 … [Iraq] was being discussed as part of a five-year campaign plan … and there were a total of seven countries [to be invaded] …” (Wesley Clark, “The Clark Critique,” Newsweek, 9/29/03)

QUESTION: Is invading seven countries more macho than just picking one at random?

CLARK CONSPIRACY NO. 8

MR. CLARK: “[T]hey told me there was something, some kind of a memo or something. I never saw it.” (As Quoted In Paul Barton, “Clark Again Tells Of Post-9/11 Hit List,” Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, 11/4/03)

QUESTION: ¯¯ Look at all these rumors surrounding me everyday… ¯¯ (From “Rumors,” By Timex Social Club)

CLARK CONSPIRACY NO. 7

MR. CLARK: “You only have to listen to the gossip around Washington and to hear what the neoconservatives are saying and you will get the flavor of this.” (As Quoted In Paul Barton, “Clark Again Tells Of Post-9/11 Hit List,” Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, 11/4/03)

QUESTION: Gossip, rumors and secret plans? Oh my! Gossip, rumors and secret plans? Oh my!

CLARK CONSPIRACY NO. 6

MR. CLARK: "I think Dick Cheney put his thumb on the scale and got Don Rumsfeld in as secretary of defense. And then I think that together they took the opportunity of 9/11 to persuade the president [to go into Iraq]." (MSNBC's "Hardball," 1/5/04)

QUESTION: Dick Cheney and Don Rumsfeld planned from the get-go to invade Iraq, waiting until some horrible tragedy befell the country to spring the notion on an unsuspecting President and country?

CLARK CONSPIRACY NO. 5

MR. CLARK: "I think [the war in Iraq] was purely political. I think it started with a Republican Party pledge, an effort to embarrass the Clinton administration. It swelled and just grew out of control."

(MSNBC's "Hardball," 1/5/04)

QUESTION: Are you really claiming the Republican Party took the country to war to embarrass Bill Clinton?

CLARK CONSPIRACY NO. 4

MR. CLARK: "[T]here were some people who hyped the intelligence." (MSNBC's "Hardball," 1/5/04)

QUESTION: So who are these people? And, having told the House Armed Services Committee, "there's no question that Saddam Hussein is a threat," are you one of them? (Wesley Clark, Committee On Armed Services, U.S. House Of Representatives, Testimony, 9/26/02)

CLARK CONSPIRACY NO. 3

MR. CLARK: "There were some people who said, no, what we need to do is just find ... a country and beat up on them so that other people in the Arab world will know we're big and tough and strong." (MSNBC's "Hardball," 1/5/04)

QUESTION: Are you claiming the President and his advisors, in implementing the longstanding policy of regime change in Iraq, were really just randomly using force against a country as a gesture of machismo?

CLARK CONSPIRACY NO. 2

MR. CLARK: "There were some people who said ... this is a way to sort of ... help Israel." (MSNBC's "Hardball," 1/5/04)

QUESTION: Do you believe the war in Iraq is Israeli-driven?

CLARK CONSPIRACY NO. 2

MR. CLARK: "Ultimately, all of this was passed through a political filter. Karl Rove, he passed judgment on it." (MSNBC's "Hardball," 1/5/04)

QUESTION: Are you really suggesting that Senior Advisor Karl Rove, not the CIA, Defense Department, State Department or National Security Advisor, is responsible for advising the President on national security decisions?

Hard to believe ANYBODY could think this nutcase should be President.
It is scarey.

"Fact is, Slick Willie and the HildaBeast ain't goin' away until we stomp on 'em, grind them into the ground, and bury them six feet under with all the evidence of corruption we have on them!!"

I agree with what you say, but I want Dean to be the nominee, not Clark. Clark is the scariest and slickest one of the whole bunch.

From Newsweek:

http://www.prnewswire.com/cgi-bin/stories.pl?ACCT=104&STORY=/www/story/08-01-1999/0000993895&EDATE=

NEW YORK, Aug. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Beyond his disagreements with Washington over strategy in the Kosovo war, U.S. Gen. Wesley Clark, abruptly replaced as NATO commander last week, frequently ran afoul of top Allied officers. In one instance, Clark was ignored when he ordered helicopters to land on the airstrip at the Pristina airport to prevent Russian transports from landing there, Newsweek reports in the current issue. (Photo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/19990801/HSSU006) Gen. Mike Jackson, the British commander on the ground in Kosovo, told Clark, "I'm not going to start World War III for you." Both Jackson and Clark appealed to their respective political leaders for support. Jackson got it; Clark didn't. Effectively, his orders as Supreme Commander were overruled, report National Security Correspondent John Barry and Middle East Regional Editor Christopher Dickey in the August 9 issue of Newsweek (on newsstands Monday, August 2).

I hear what yer saying and probably agree with ya...but I'm sorta startin' to relish the idea of having a Clinton protege to attack fer the next 11 months. It could serve to inoculate America against a HildaBeast candidacy in '08...why should we put off taking on the ClintonMachine fer another four years, when we don't have a strong incumbent running?!

BRING IT... "Treason and High Crimes"
(To be sung to the Outlaws' "Green Grass and High Tides")

It's a place your children dream of, where great men once led the free...
Ol' Abe Lincoln, Ronald Reagan, Washington each graced the seat...
FDR, Kennedy, and Jefferson once served the office with pride!
But now we've got Slick Willie bangin' young interns...
Left-Wing tells us, "Let it slide..."

Well, Clinton's been a damned disgrace, spy stories all ring true...
If you say, "It's all Okay!", what does that say 'bout you?!
Med'yuh refuses to ask tough questions, as though Slick were King.
But patriots cannot believe in Bill,
'Cuz Slick's sold his soul to Beijing!! Left declares...

"Treason and high crimes don't matter!"
Good DemocRATs fallin' from glory...
Still, Lib'rals say, "We adore you!"
Left's King's a freak...good folks abhor you-oouu!!

(Guitar Jammin')

Those who don't fight Evil find their souls have been sold cheap...
Numb poltroons can't see how Power has warped Ol' Slick Willie!
Crimes and Slime define Left's WHORE, they take up all his time.
We'll next CONVICT, then Slick will do his prison time...
Right'll force him there!!!

Treason and High Crimes will be proved...
Will DemonRATs follow Slick blindly?!
The Left-Wing says, "We adore you!"
Election's soon...voters will show you-oouu!
Yeah...the Right'll slaughter you-ou-ou-ouuu...!!!
(Mo' Guitar Jammin' to fade)

FReegards...MUD

BTW...Hey Sultan, Jodi stole yer "88"!!

Just think of a Clark/Clinton ticket.

Would the official campaign slogan be, "Dead Man Walking?"

Anybody insane enough to put Hillary on their ticket as the VP should be put on suicide watch. Seriously.

Wasn't there something odd about the way that Clark got his commission as a General? Something involving Clinton years before Clinton was President?

My comments about the time are mostly incorrect here. Clarks late-career rise apparently began with his involvement in Waco. He was passed over twice for promotion recommendations, but was eventually given another star by the intervention of Clinton.

"...are you serious?"

Absolutely!!

This guy is so slick, he could pass himself off as a moderate conservative war hero who could make major inroads in the South and actully win the election. The sheeple are that stupid. That's scary!!

It would be der Slickmeister redux; Clinton, Part Deux...

The guy's a nutcase, PKM! I can't even stand to watch him on television but I can't stand watching any liberal any more anyway so that's not new. He has a plastic face that kinda makes me feel like there's nobody in there.
