Saudi nukes
Washington Times ^ | Richard L. Russell

American and international attention is focused on the nuclear weapons programs of the recent past in Iraq and Libya and of the present in North Korea and Iran. American officials would be wise not to restrict their fields of vision to these targets, lest they miss otherpotentialnuclear weapons aspirants. One such candidate is Saudi Arabia, which is seldom mentioned as a problem country regarding nuclear weapons. Much like the movie Casablanca, the "usual suspects" are more readily trotted because they are at odds with American national interests nearly across the board, while Saudi Arabia shares many interests with the United States.

Seems like it would be a lot easier to pump oil through a glass shell. No sand flying around to gum up the works.

I don't trust Mohanmmedans with C4 much less nukes. Nuclear proliferation into Dar al Islam is bad news all ways 'round. Pakistan is the root of all this evil and their Dr Khan who heads their nuke program---> http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1045501/posts

I don't really see China directly selling nukes to Saudi Arabia, for they are quite serious and cautious players in world politics. But the fact is, the Saudis do not need Chinese expertise if they can get hold of some Pakistani scientists to which the country is doubly sacred by the holy towns of Mecca and Medina.

Another option could be Saudi Arabia getting hold of the potential Iraqi WMDs, since the regional politics are, to say the least, byzantine enough to breed strange bedfellows...

THe problem is that they have such a blinkered approach. When we tested our nukes or when the Brits or French did, we never called them Christian nukes. When the Chinese did so they didn't call them the Buddha bomb or India call it's tests the hindu bomb. But thePacks called it theIslamicbomb! And you know they'd be more than happy to give more sacrifices to the Moon god.

Which group has the nukes now, which group will have them in the future?

Two Saudis power groups -- one country -- each represented by members in the Royal family.

The first citizen group consist of ultra religious, highly suspicious angry citizens -- ruled by a bottomless hatred mixed with a twisted self righteousness. This group is represented by those on the "outs" in the royal family. The black sheep royals encourage resentment of westernized "in" Saudis and their beliefs. A common complaint: " Westernized House of Saud members hold the forth wife slot empty for prostitutes. A prostitute is employed, married, then divorced the next morning." Members of this group, their leaders and fellow travelors are ready pawns for Osama types and Royals who on the "outs" with the "in" family. They hate our freedoms. They hate us.

The next group is the wealthy "in" group. Members are part of the westernized Royal family and people who benefit from that group. These are the favored legitimate sons, their wives, children, those who serve them, and citizens who benefit from them. This group has been educated in the West. They've also been wearing the "ring of power" (Plato - Frodo) for 50 years. They're corrupt, arrogant, out of touch, narcissistic, brutal and on our side.

Which group has the nukes now, which group will have them in the future, and does it make a difference? Neither group is stable or on our side.

Saudi Arabia is seldom mentioned as a problem country regarding anything, despite the fact that they're the breeding ground for the most radical Islamists in the world.
