Pat's really lost it here; I read that column by Krauthammer just yesterday, and what he said was that Dean and his ilk loathed the south. Buchanan is so far off base here that its laughable!

Pat lost it where he wrote the column about how Japan was blameless in World War II and then fabricated some nonsense about how Japan (which suffered only several hundred killed in World War I picking off German Pacific possessions and gained dozens of islands controlling millions of square miles of ocean) was screwed in the Versailles Peace Treaty by Britain.

"Howard Dean wants the white trash vote," wrote Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer in recent mockery of the Vermonter. "That's clearly what [Dean] meant when he said he wanted the votes of 'guys with Confederate flags in their pickup trucks.'"

I have a good mind to say, "Bite me."

I have a good mind to say, "Bite me."

The slight problem is that Buchanan through extremely creative use of punctuatuation and cutting and pasting, basically fabricated what Krauthammer said out of pure blind hatred of Krauthammer. Krauthammer isn't calling Southerners white trash, Krauthammer is saying DEAN did. It's clear that Buchanan is basically losing his mind as he slips into worthless irrelevance.

The "bite me" should be directed at Buchanan.

Here's what Krauthammer ACTUALLY said:

Howard Dean wants the white trash vote. That's not exactly what he said, but that's clearly what he meant when he said he wanted the votes of "guys with Confederate flags in their pickup trucks." It was a beautiful moment. It produced at the very next Democratic debate the perfect liberal storm: a comedy of class snobbery, regional condescension and political correctness, with a touch of race-baiting thrown in for good measure.

And later Krauthammer wrote:

Those people? All this proved a bit much for John Edwards, whose knowledge of the South is firsthand and not anthropological. Edwards, who grew up white, working class and southern, made the devastatingly correct observation that Dean's problem is not racism but condescension.

As has been noted, to anyone who read the Krauthammer article, this Buchanan piece makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

How on earth is that a jew-baiting statement?

You have to keep in mind that this statement is coming from a man who has used Holocaust denial arguments in his columns to try to prove wrong eyewitness accounts of Nazis using diesel fumes to exterminate the Jews in WWII.

And his comments bashing the Jewish lobby and its 'amen corner' is an insult to Christians.

"Thou shalt not speak ill of a fellow Conservative" -- Reagans Law

Thou shalt not speak ill of a fellow Republican, no matter how far left they have gone--Neocon Law.

Ronald Reagan, God bless the man, I believe would not have stood for what has passed in the name of conservatism in the last two years. The only difference between the Republican party and Democrat party of late is the flavor of koolaid

Now why would Pat want to do that ?

Class ? class ? class ?

Because Krauthammer is Jewish and proIsrael but Pat can't come out and say it directly so he translates it to neoCon and tries to sow discord among the brethren.

I am so glad Pat Buchanan is not a Republican.

What is it in the wiring of these neocons that they so loathe white Southerners who cherish the monuments, men and memories of the Lost Cause?>>

As the Antichrist is to Jesus the idea of Confederacy is to the US Constitution. It's a counterfeit. And it is a cause (if not a flag) we will probably have to fight again in our lifetimes.

No the South won't rise again. California, however....

Why do the neocons hate Dixie so?

Because all liberals hate Southerners and neo-con pansies are nothing more than well dressed liberals.

Actually Pat was not refering to Dean as a neo-con....for Pat and his two dozen cultist followers, a new-con is ANY conservative who sees ANYTHING in a light other than the view point held by the self-appointed definers of all things true and correct for America.

Last December, Krauthammer, David Frum and Jonah Goldberg all squabbled noisily

Neo-con = Jew. Its all about the Jews with this Jew-baiter.

BTW, Krauthammer's article was not anti-White Southerner; Buchanan has misrepresented it, as usual. He's scum.

Wrong, try again. The Confederacy wanted to maintain the ideals of the Founders of a limited government, while the union wanted to introduce government kickbacks to favored industries, internal improvements, and a national bank among other things.

Southerners were the conservatives and lincoln represented the 'progressive' movement. Guess that's why he got all the praise from Marx huh?
