November 25, 2003 -- WASHINGTON - President Bush signed a huge new defense bill that includes millions of dollars for a small nuclear bomb designed to destroy deep, hardened underground bunkers. Among the many items tucked away in the $401 billion defense authorization act was a $15 million three-year research project by the Energy and Defense departments to create the Robust Nuclear Earth Penetrator.

Well, considering the idea of launching these things one after the other after the other. A nice, steady stream of 'em would do the job quite nicely.

I suspect that if they were fired in a pattern like that, they could remove a small mountain.

Since the beginning, our President has warned us (and in no uncertain terms, I might add.) that this struggle will be a long and difficult one. Liberals and their associated ilk refuse to accept the reality of the situation, continuing to attack the man instead of the enemy. Here again we see our President laying the ground work for what we must face, and telling us what we must prepare for.

Maybe something could be devised where, once the rocket has burrowed in, it then deploys a drill to go down dozens, maybe a hundred feet more. Then it puts the explosive, nuke or conventional, down the drilled hole and boom.

But these things have their uses.

Iran and North Korea have made a habit of dispersing their weapons manufacturing programs and burying them either deep underground or in the sides of mountains.

This allows us to bury the programs, and more importantly, the scientists alive (or dead), no matter where they are buried.
