PRESIDENT BUSH: I do say that freedom is the Almighty's gift to every person. I also condition it by saying freedom is not America's gift to the world. It's much greater than that, of course. And I believe we worship the same God.

Allah offers the destiny, predestination and submission, not freedom.

You are generalizing all Muslims as terrorists. That is simply not correct. If so, then the exact same reasoning could be applied to those who murder abortion doctors in the name of Christianity.

Bump!

Muslim rioters burn 13 churches in north Nigeria
Reuters ^ | Nov. 20, 2003

LAGOS, Nov 20 (Reuters) - Islamic militants burned to the ground thirteen churches and several houses in a remote northern Nigerian town after a Christian student was accused of blasphemy, police said on Thursday.

Irate youths torched churches, houses and shops late on Tuesday in Kazaure, some 80 km (50 miles) north of Kano, a northern provincial capital where hundreds have died in religious clashes in the past three years.

The dispute began when a Christian student was accused of insulting the Prophet Mohammad and a group of Muslims were not satisfied with the response of school authorities.

Abubakar Sale, police commissioner in the northern Jigawa state, told Reuters that the rioters attempted to invade the school but were repelled by police.

Sure are a lot of those militants

Go to Saudi Arabia and tell the religious police that Jesus was the Son of God. Let me know what happens.

How many churches are open in Saudi Arabia?

Really?

One day a man asked a sadhu what it takes to see God. The sadhu brought him to the river and pushed and held his head under the water, and kept him there for quite a long time. When he pulled him out of the water, the man was gasping for breath. The sadhu asked him, "Tell, me, how did you feel?" The man replied that he thought he was going to die, so desperate was he for air. The sadhu replied, "If you can pine for God with as much ardor as you did for air, you will not have long to wait for His vision."

An atheist doesn't believe in gods. An agnostic believes in gods. You sounds more like an atheist than an agnostic.

"In a sense," I believe it's possible to say that.

No it's not. The Bible doesn't say, 'Every man comes to the Father a different way' does it? The fact is either the Pope and President Bush are right or Jesus Christ the Son of God was right. Christ's own words state clearly there is no other way.

And what of similar passages in the Old Testiment? How should one interpret those? Should Jews also be watched suspiciously for animal sacrifices?

You don't get it. Modern Muslims (at leat the ones I know) believe that the Koran was written for a specific moment in history, and that phrases saying to kill infidels has no application to modern times. I don't see many Jews or Christians sacrificing animals because the Bible says so.

These militant muslims HAVE hijacked a religion based on THEIR interpretation of the Koran. There are also different 'beliefs' in Christianity- Baptists, Methodist, Catholics, etc. They all differ in their beliefs. But it is their belief in Jesus Christ that binds them- and keeps them peaceful. Perhaps someday there will be a faction of Christians who take up arms in the name of their God against what they deem as false religions. Judging by some of the replies on this thread, that day may not be too far away. Who will judge them? You? Me? Or God?

What do we want, a holy war? I sincerely believe Bush has a handle on who God is and where his own faith lies. Do we expect him to come out and play into the hands of the islamofascists and their media suck-ups? This is the crap that Gen. Boykin is getting shanked about.

When you are walking on eggs, don't hop.

I know which God I worship. The Pope, you, Muhammad Atta--indeed, all men--can and must answer that same question for themselves privately and ultimately. Dou you have a problem with that?

Anyone who would use their religion as a reason to kill,
no matter how few or many, is inherently wrong.

Cute and smart too. ;-)
