I disagree with Reese about his comment concerning the guy's gun. It was a .38. There's no reason for guesswork just to prove a point.

It was a .38.

I've read that it was a .22 more than a few times. .....And I just checked out the stoppingpower.net forum and all the posters there are all under the same impression.
