It was a .38.

I've read that it was a .22 more than a few times. .....And I just checked out the stoppingpower.net forum and all the posters there are all under the same impression.

Too much muzzle flash for a .22. My guess would be a higher caliber with some kind of goofy loads

I did a search and the authorities said it was a .38. I did find a couple of comments from people who thought it was a .22.
