Judge W. Douglas Baird told Bob and Mary Schindler that they "do not have a sufficient legal interest in the narrow subject [the constitutionality of 'Terri's Law'] that would justify formal intervention." Baird added in his three-page order that a "friend of the court brief" would "allow development of their legal arguments in this cause." The Schindlers have two days from yesterday to file such a brief.

You know what -- I wonder if Baird, like Greer, is of the many-divorces/bad-woman-experience school. Pat Anderson might do well to let a big, gnarly looking fellow sub for her, not that he could present any technically better arguments, but something about these judges just seems hostile to vulnerable women and friendly to angry men.
