Is the abductor the girl's biological father?
Where was the mother? Betcha the mom isn't married.

What does that have to with the fact that a little girl is missing?
Why are you assuming the mother isn't married? Whatever...

Most cases are, the biological father snatches their child.
Ever heard of child custody disputes?
Like I said, betcha the mom isn't married.

I FOUND THIS SAD (wish I didn't see it now I'm upset):
Amber Alert Updated for 9 Year Old Toronto Canada Girl
Cecilia Zhang remains missing, although the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) canceled the Amber Alert late Tuesday morning.
According to Constable Mike Hayles of the Toronto Police Communications division, the OPP canceled the alert because they felt it had done its job by alerting everyone to the fact the Cecilia was missing, and that media coverage was extensive.
So, while the official provincewide alert has been canceled, Cecilia remains missing, and CodeAmber.org will continue its efforts at the request of the Toronto Police Dept.
The Toronto police issued the Amber Alert after the girl was found missing from her bedroom and there was evidence of forced entry into the room on Monday morning October 20.

I don't understand why that happens. It makes the situation much worse, and worse you can go to jail...
I wonder if it's because men feel they get railroaded BUT there are other threads for that. I hope this girl is as lucky as Elizabeth Smart and gets found alive.

That is tragic! I assume they're in "recovery" mode for them to cancel the Amber Alert? They must know something to make them do that, I would think. How awful for her family... I pray she comes home safely, as well as ALL abducted children.

Yes I think so. Sometimes I think it's better to have 'something' than just have the child disappear. Imagine being a mom having your sweet baby disappear and wondering what was done, what happened,etc... I would never wish this on my worst enemy.. not even liberals.

CG, I know thi is an issue close to your heart and I right along with you pray for this angel to be returned and all the other missing children. But I always must question is the child necessarily better off with the mother?

I'm tellin' you - if this girl had two parents (or one) who watched her like they should, this man (IF he's a total stranger) would not have had the opportunity to snatch her, that's all I'm trying to say!

yes I understand what you are saying now... I'm not too familiar with abductions.
I heard Smart's father on Sean Hannity, and I was angry with the way Sean was kissing his a$$. You are right. If parents are aware, unless the beast is shrewd, very hard to snatch a child. Sean excused him inviting a slob into their home, saying 'it wasn't New York City'... whatever.

Ah yes, I heard that too. That was in response to a call from Massachusettes (I remember the guy's Boston accent!).
I was listening with hubby in the car, and I said, that inviting homeless drifters into your house is probably not very smart, esp. if you've got beautiful young children around. Then I remembered how I took off from work this summer when we had new windows put in, because I knew my daughter would come home from school while the window installers would be there. And one of the window guys was a real sweetheart, I have no doubt you could leave both your granny and your newborn with him and no harm would come to either, but the OTHER guy, he did not have such a wonderful vibe. I'm not saying he was a criminal, but he just verged on the "not totally cool" range.
People are foolish, they are naive, they are careless. With children, constant vigilance is the only way.
