LOS ANGELES - Hollywood legend Marlon Brando, who has been suffering from serious ill health, is reportedly making preparations for his death.

The 79-year-old actor has left instructions on dictated tapes specifying points in his will and details for his funeral, according to media reports.

Sources claim that Brando's tapes say he wishes to be cremated, with his ashes sprinkled among the palm trees on a Polynesian atoll known as Tetiaroa, an island he has owned since 1966.

The actor also wants Jack Nicholson to lead mourners at the funeral service, with King of Pop Michael Jackson saying a few words.

In February, Brando was diagnosed with congestive heart failure.

Brando, whose career has spanned more than five decades, won best actor Oscars for Francis Ford Coppola's "The Godfather" in 1972 and Elia Kazan's "On the Waterfront" in 1954. His most recent onscreen appearance was in the 2001 heist film "The Score" opposite Robert DeNiro and Edward Norton.

Well at least it will be nice and dignified.

Another member of the Greatest Generation of actors is fading away; Hollywood will never be the same when the majority of these guys are gone. Actually, it hasn't been the same since some of them have either retired from the screen or died. It's really hard to imagine the current generation having the same impact as those of Brando's or Peck's generations, which actually overlapped by a few years. Although Brando started going a little whacky in the '70s, he's not nearly as obnoxious as Martin Sheen, Danny Glover, or Ed Asner. At least he recognized the fact that not only liberal Democrats go to see movies or attend concerts or buy recordings. Those three knuckleheads could actually learn something from the old hands of Hollyweird:
Be gracious, no matter what.

-Regards, T.

As bent as they come, but an immeasurable talent on the screen.

So sorry to learn about this.

He did some great work for us, and reflected some very real "types" in our culture, through the years.

Fat and freakish as he has unfortunately become, Brando is the greatest American actor ever.

He asks that they include no less than two boxes of Cuban (NOT Bermudan) cigars, two bottles of double malt scotch, a few backissues of GQ with post-it notes placed at the start of any articles that mention his name, and one bottle of cognac in his casket (plus a pillow mint). Anyone who sings at the funeral will have to be an attractive female brunette and a vegetarian. While on his death bed, he will be attended by no less than two (2) nurses, both of which are attractive female brunettes who are vegetarians. His shirt will be a fairly expensive satin shirt because no real man would be buried in a silk shirt, especially one with a bowtie. The casket must be quite roomy in the center section. The hearse that will carry the casket must have brand new shocks. The casket should also include a transistor radio with a large battery, permanently tuned to the local news/weather/sports station, just in case his soul doesn't leave his body after death and he needs something else to keep him occupied. When the casket is lowered into the grave, he asks that it be coated with a ton of cement so that it won't pop out of the ground in the event of a flood. On the advice of his good friend Michael, he asks that the inscription on his tombstone be very brief, but it must be translated into French, German, and Dutch. The casket must be air tight and evacuated in the event that scientists discover away a way to rejuvenate his dead body. Just before he breathes his last, he wants everyone in attendance to remind him to think about his momma.
