[Top 100] US Advertisers Urged to Preview Ronald Reagan Movie Before Sponsoring
Cybercast News Service ^ | October 28, 2003 | Scott Hogenson

The head of a Washington, DC based media watchdog group is asking that advertisers demand to preview a planned CBS mini series on former President Ronald Reagan before sponsoring the program.

Media Reasearch Center President L. Brent Bozell Tuesday sent a letter to each of the nations top 100 advertisers urging them to preview the movie before making a sponsorship decision because it is what Bozell called 'a partisan attack against one of Americas most beloved Presidents.'

A review of the script by New York Times writer Jim Reutenberg noted the two part mini series, scheduled for later this month, makes no mention of the significant economic expansion that took place during Reagan's Presidency, and Bozell called the program 'a blatantly unfair assault' on the Reagan legacy.

CBS Network Presdient Les Moonves was quoted in the October 28th New York Post as calling the criticism of the program 'odd' because no one has seen it yet, and Moonves said the program is still being edited.'

Especially when we consider that they admit to putting dialogue in the production that never took place.

It is too late for me. I will Boycott every sponsor of any and all CBS shows starting today and lasting forever. SeeBS is far too arogant. They need to be taken down.

If I was in the market for lousy stock to buy, I would buy a few shares of CBS and sell it short. Or, mount a shareholder law suit against the management.

Yeah. They also have RR taking God's name in vain. There is also a scene in which RR doesn't remember a member of his cabinet.

I predict TARGET and all of their fry companies will pull out.

Target is a rather family-friendly, conservative company. Who just unfortunately has utter idiots for media buyers in Minnesota.

Target is not family-friendly here in Washington state. They have rather nasty signs at every entrance stating that initiative gatheres are not welcome on their property. Since our government here is so left leaning, the only way the people can ever be heard is via the Initiative process, and that means we have to gather thousands of signatures before they will pay attention to us. Target is one of the only companies that refuses to allow signature gatherers on their property.

If I was able, I would replace the Reagan hatchet-job video with the interview of Juanita Broaddrick, which was canned by NBC.
