Dolphins linebacker Junior Seau insists he meant no harm when he suggested the way to stop former teammate LaDainian Tomlinson is to feed him fried chicken and watermelon.

Tomlinson, whose Chargers face the Dolphins on Monday night, could not immediately be reached for comment. The Dolphins had no immediate word on whether Seau would be disciplined for the remark.

"We ate that all the time. We'd have fried chicken every Friday," Seau said.

(Hypersensitive mode on:) This is the critical sentance in the excuse. If Seau broke bread with LT, and he knows firsthand that's what he loves to eat, well then who the hell is to assign a racial motive?

(Hypersensitive mode off:) Different cultures have different cultural foods, and that's life. When we're poking fun at friends, who gives a rat's rear-end what angle you use! When you got a friend, if you love them like a brother or sister, you respect them - and that means the whole deal, race and all.

All in all: BFD...

By the way: LT should ONLY stand for the one, the only, the disgraced, and great Lawrence Taylor. For all his troubles, the man's play on the field earned the eternal rights to those initials.

Now if Junior Seau had suggested the way to stop a top white runner is to feed him quiche......

Or Vinnie Testaverde lasagna?
Or all those great Jewish QBs bagels and lox?

Only whites have no rights. Becasue they are hyper insecure about their ability to compete.

A local grocery store got into trouble a few years ago when it had a big sign at the entrance to the store telling shoppers that fried chicken was on sale that day to honor the holiday.

The problem? It was Martin Luther King's birthday. Somebody complained and of course you can imagine where it went from there.

The world has gone mad. Not by the fact that people get offended by such trivial BS, but by the fact it gets any play at all.

My grandfather used to drive a charter bus. He drove many loads of black folk (his words) to church outings. He loved the fried chicken and watermelon they brought and they loved his banjo pickin' (he was a KY redneck). He believed these black folks to be the kindest people he ever met and prepared the best chicken he ever ate. He got as many charters for these outings as he could because black people loved his two most favorite things fried chicken and music. It also helped that they were very generous tippers! His stories re. these outings still stir warm feelings in me towards blacks. It is stereotypical thinking for sure but it sure inoculated me against bigotry.

The chicken thing may be a stereotype but please, almost anyone with southern origins is going to love fried chicken (or anything else fried). I was at a Kroger buying 24 pcs of fried chicken when a black man came to the counter. He seemed unsure of what to buy so I said "The chicken is great". He spun around with a scrowl on his face until he saw my two boxes of chicken which caused him to grin and buy the chicken himself.
