Students at the University of Oklahoma held a sit-in after history professor Kathleen Brosnan uttered the n-word while reading a historic document in class.

The protest was kicked off by members of the Black Emergency Response Team at the university, some of whom, in addition to the sit-in, have started a hunger strike. the Norman Transcript reports. Students from other groups and some faculty members have joined the demonstration as well. They said they’ll stop protesting when the university agrees to meet their demands.

Instead of caving to this nonsense the admin should punish the students. Good gravy people. If the outrage wasn't silly enough these kids are DEMANDING as part of the reparations...a fast-food restaurant. Comical if it weren't so sad.

... some of whom, in addition to the sit-in, have started a hunger strike.

I 'd be willing to bet that many of those hunger strikers could go for months................

“Black Emergency Response Team at the university”. Really...I had to see if this was a Babylon Bee story. Is it sorta like SWAT? Do they have a huge armored truck they drive around in? If my kids were young again I would have put them in private schools from beginning to HS grad. Then I’d advise them to learn a trade and skip what they call “college” now days.

Instead of caving to this nonsense the admin should punish the students.

The only thing the administrators care about is harvesting their student loans.

Now I understand the problem: Professor Kathleen Brosnan is not in the racial group permitted to use the word in question.

excerpt:

Kathleen Brosnan, an OU faculty member in the history department, said the n-word multiple times while reading from a 1920’s U.S. Senate document. Brosnan said in the message that it was not her intention for her words to be hurtful. The message was sent to The Daily by a student in Brosnan’s class.

“I am concerned that the words I quoted in class yesterday were hurtful. I want to apologize to all of you personally,” Brosnan said. “Please know that this was never my intention.”

Brosnan explained the use of the word was in part to help the class recognize the “ugliness” that exists in U.S. history.

“By directly quoting a US senator, James Reed, I wanted all the students in class to recognize an ugliness in US history that is unfortunately still part of some students’ lived experience,” Brosnan said. “I also recognize that apologizing in advance for the offensive language and placing it in this historical context did not alleviate the injury. And for that I am deeply sorry.”

And 90% of them probably left with music on their phones that includes that same offensive word and the students think nothing of it.

Every year a college degree gets more expensive and worth less.

Who wants to hire people like this other than the racism industry?

The original Blazing Saddles or the expurgated version?

I captured the original on HBO decades ago before it was purged, like Song of the South.

Ironic, since the movie climaxes with black & white people working together to achieve a common goal.

The racists condemned her because that’s what they were organized to do. Betting the bastards don’t have anything to say about rappers using the “n word.”
