Donald Trumps presidential campaign in 2015 had no pollster, rapid-response team or fundraiser. A bare-bones staff fueled by pizza and energy drinks toiled in a makeshift office at Trump Tower. His opponents vastly outspent him - and lost.
But as president, Trump's campaign machine has dramatically escalated, powered by a historically large war chest of donations large and small that has given him a head start over the eventual Democratic nominee.
At this point in the last election, Trump's campaign employed 19 consultants. Now, there are more than 200. When Trump had all but locked up the nomination by May 2016, he had spent $63 million. Thus far, pro-Trump committees have spent $531 million.
Part of that money has been used to try to influence the Democratic primary. The committees recently launched a $10 million ad offense targeting Democrats, particularly former vice president Joe Biden, in early primary states.

And yet, he still beat the Witch.

..and his opponents don’t bother to secure their domain names,....hehehehe.

I’m grateful that I get to see this President in action. Absolutely the most awesome POTUS in my lifetime and I think he’s up there with George Washington - who at least wasn’t dealing with such a rotten enemy within. GW had decent people to deal with compared to what Trump has had to face.
His Republican opponents dont seem to have learned anything from Trumps primary win last time.
Trump won (IMO) because he wasnt going to be nice when Dims were constantly trashing him in the press.
eRepublican always play nice when Dims are playing hard ball.
Even before he talked about running, Trump called a spade a spade. He got trashed early on as a Birther and he didnt back peddle on it until well into his campaign and even then, he didnt recant he just waffled on it. He probably backed off on the Birther issue because his advisors told him to do it. I think it was out of character for him.
When Dims threw a punch, he punched back hard. McCain and Romney were cowards who were scared out of their wits to say anything mean about Obama.
Rank and file Republicans have been waiting a long time for a candidate like Trump. I dont see anyone on the Republican side that seems to have any intension of trying to out Trump Trump.
I just hope that this is a good thing.
Jeb Bush had lots of consultants. So did Hillary Clinton. Hell they had hot and cold running consultants in every campaign office around the country.
A President that attacks when attacked, and is excellent in using ridicule against opponents.
I could get used to this!
Maybe Pelosi should keep the inquisition going until spring. Trump should be at a trillion by then.
I agree. Go Trump!
Me too.
But Im not getting my hopes up.
I havent seen anyone else in the Republican Party even making scary noises to Dims.
Obama opened the door to less than gentlemanly behavior by a president so why the hesitancy by Republicans to take the fight to the enemy when they drew first blood?
Them Russians helped ORANGE MOFO BAD!!
Trump as President remains a combative outsider but for re-election he cannot hope to catch the Dems and the media unaware. They will be fully mobilized against him, so Trump needs to mobilize not just his base but also try to poach votes from the Dems.
Hopefully the 200 consultants are doing something productive, I’ll let Brad Parscale be the judge of that...
Consultants in Hillary’s case didn’t matter. There were tons of them in 2008’s Iowa caucus build-up period (almost six months ahead of time), and they delivered a loss. Same story in 2016 in Iowa....she had experts and they simply couldn’t deliver.
yes consultants sitting on their a@@es and pissing the money away. Also— every one of these 200 “consultants” had better be vetted— because many of them could be Uniparty and RINO turncoats... ready and willing to spill data and dirty politics at the right moment. Screen them, completely, and use every bit of the money for private investigator backgrounds and checks on this “consultants” who know a crap load less than Trump.
Make sure it isn’t all spent on idiots in offices that cost money instead of citizen groups who work precincts and all kinds of people. Trump did not need all this to beat hitlery, and he may not need ANY of it to beat whatever loser they have in mind... including moochelle obi won kenyobi. Reach the millenials— educated them, challenge them, use their “language”. And fry the media-CNN and Fox too if needed. Shut off goooooogle, and farcebook.
15% of the audience of his recent rallies were registered democrats.
I hope he doesn’t overload himself with “experts” that don’t have a clue... I think he went mostly with HIS instinct last time and it worked so hope he doesn’t listen too much to others...
Exactly. I agree, he needs to deliver his message like he did last time and not let someone tell him to soften it or sugar coat it or whatever.
Most of these political self-proclaimed “experts” still don’t know why he won. They don’t know us like he does.
