Thanks for your reply. I agree the House has the power to impeach the President. However to constitution lays out the standard for impeaching a president. I don’t see how they can impeach if they don’t met the constitutional requirement.

The House IS the Constitutional requirement.

Voters can decide if the House is acting properly.

Supreme Court can’t rule because they themselves are subject to impeachment and can’t set conditions for themselves.

This is why they will lay out the articles of impeachment. There will be articles of impeachment which spell out what “high crimes and misdemeanors” have been allegedly committed by this president.

To my knowledge, “high crimes and misdemeanors” are not precisely spelled out in the constitution or any laws. Treason and bribery are specifically spelled out as grounds for impeachment.

So as absurd as this appears now, they could impeach Trump over a phone call in which some questionable (to them) things were said.

You need to dig a little deeper.

The founding fathers purposely left the requirement vague.

This would allow the House to impeach over something the founding fathers could not foresee.

The thing you have to remember is that impeachment is NOT a legal process, it is a political process.

As other’s have commented on the House can impeach for any reason. You should also know that the courts are powerless in this matter. They can not get involved even it they wanted to.

Who ultimately determines the "constitutional requirement"? The U.S. Congress.......And who runs Congress today?

The only thing preventing members of Congress and the Senate from making wrong decisions is the thought of losing their next election. Judging by what has been transpiring, the Democrat members of Congress are pretty confident they can follow thru successfully with the impeachment process and get reelected.

Would it come back to bite them? I'm not so sure but by election time next year, the damage will already have been done..........

With a democrat president, a democrat Senate and a democrat Congress, you will have an out of control left wing banana republic the likes of which this country has never experienced........
