Former New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez defended President Donald Trump's call for a border wall as part of a deal to end the government shutdown and said Thursday "it's disgusting" not to call the situation on the U.S. Mexico-border a crisis.
The Republican, who was the nation's first Latina governor, told Fox News that Democrats should come to the table and agree to Trump's wall in exchange to fund the federal government.
"I think the president's plan is smart, and it's multi-faceted," Martinez said. "It includes a fence, but not for 2,000 miles."

This is about the LAST PERSON that I’d expect to be on Trump’s side. Very CLASSY of her, and it actually does put a lot of pressure on the Dems.
Ping.
Thanks 2ndDivisionVet.
She is looking for a position in administration
Surprising voice of support.
The US citizens have been waiting since 1986 for the border security we were promised by Congress.
Congress promised again in 2006 with the Secure Fence Act.
BUILD IT!
She’d be a better Senator.
It’s called steppin’ up to the plate. Wish Sarah wouda’ done that. At least Gary Johnson did.
“This is about the LAST PERSON...”
IMO, there are probably a lot of Rats that support Prez Trump, but are ‘afraid’ to step forward and support him.
“IMO, there are probably a lot of Rats that support Prez Trump, but are afraid to step forward and support him.”
It’s interesting. There does seem to be some cracks in ‘the resistance’, where you see Doug Jones (who, by the way, only has 40% approval now) saying to try to work out a deal, and then Manchin saying that steel is movement in the right direction, and then an article about freshmen House members from Trump districts who would like to get this ‘wall thing’ behind them, so they can get to work on some of their campaign promises before the next election...
So whispers are being quietly reported, but it really does seem that the media will only show Shuemer and Pelosi as the face of the Democrats (to their regret 2 days ago, but that’s another story).
This is getting interesting.
