Cruz didn’t insult Trump’s mother. He merely pointed out that they each had a parent that wasn’t born in the U.S., but they were still both considered eligible to run for president.
I’m amazed at how selective people’s memories are about Cruz and Trump’s negative comments about each other. They insulted each other, but Trump branched out and insulted Cruz’s father and wife and didn’t stop his National Enquirer buddy from publishing supposed adulterous relationships with a number of women.
The difference is Trump’s mother became a US citizen four years before he was born and Trump was born in NY to two citizen parents.
Cruz’s father did not become a US citizen until 2005 and Cruz was born in Canada to one citizen parent.
He is as eligible as Anwar al-Awlaki’s kids born in Yemen to one citizen parent.
There are folks here who would piss on their mother’s grave if they heard she ever said a disparaging word about Trump. They are mostly idiots, and it’s best to ignore them.

I enjoy the expressing of opinion both ways. I supported Ted at first partially because I wasn’t sure Trump was serious. My favorite part of Trump was he put things on the table that the never-Trumpers ran from. I like Trump and hope he’s around another 6 years. Ted’s a sharp Constitutionalist. Wish he’d get back in the “shut the government down” mode he used to be in. He said he didn’t want to be on a the SCOTUS but he’s good to have in the senate as Trump nominees come up. Wait till RBG goes then the crap hits the propeller. MAGA then KAG. That’s the challenge.
During his presidential campaign there were rumors that he dallied with some women in the backs of campaign buses, in coat closets and bathrooms. Then there was this one woman he was supposedly having an affair with who was either working with him or covering him media wise, and she was so prolific on Instagram that people noticed her photos were wherever he was, like when he was on the air at CNN, she was ig’ing her selfies in cnn’s restroom, etc. His favorite food was cheese,and one night at 3 am she was taking photos of the fancy cheese plate her “friend” had just made for her. And the one selfie she took in the hotel room of herself fully dressed on the bed with her packages of condoms next to her, waiting for “someone.”
Who was that woman? She is someone fairly well known... I forget.
FTR, Anwar, born in Las Cruces, NM, was droned on 30 September 2011. Two weeks later, his son, Denver-born Abdulrahman al-Awlaki, 16, met the same fate. And, on 29 January 2017, his eight-year-old daughter (birthplace uncertain) was collateral damage in a commando raid in Yemen.
