Noticeably absent from [Bushs] list is Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, a Republican who is facing a surprisingly robust challenge from Rep. Beto ORourke, D-El Paso.
Cruz once worked for the former commander in chief, both on Bushs presidential campaign and then in his administration. The senator also met his wife, Heidi, while working for Bushs campaign, leading him to say that he will always be grateful to the former president

The branches of the Bush family tree are wilting and its newest leaves are very unhealthy. Neither of the Bush presidents had either the energy, initiative or vision to achieve greatness. And their bitterness as the Bushes watch Trump gradually build GREATNESS must burn in their guts.

In other words Cruz wants to be liked by everybody, but is not very likable.
Bush-43 has a likable persona but most conservatives are turned off by him now, having seen his true colors.
