Critics of President Trumps Supreme Court nominee, Judge Brett Kavanaugh, connected Kavanaughs selection to the ongoing Russia investigation, citing an article Kavanaugh wrote that claimed presidents should not be tied up in lawsuits and probes and warning that the commander in chief might be looking for a way to protect himself in a legal challenge.
In a 2009 Minnesota Law Review article, Kavanaugh claimed that presidents should not be caught up in time-consuming and distracting lawsuits and investigations. He argued that they would ill serve the public interest, especially in times of financial or national security crisis.
In choosing Brett Kavanaugh, Donald Trump is declaring he wants a fight, Brian Fallon, executive director of Demand Justice, said in a statement Monday. Brett Kavanaugh will be hostile to Roe, hostile to Obamacare, and friendly to Donald Trump in showdown with Robert Mueller.
No other candidate on Trumps shortlist better satisfies every one of Trumps litmus tests, Fallon, a former aide to former Attorney General Eric Holder and ex-Hillary Clinton campaign press secretary, added. Those litmus tests will now be an anchor around the feet of this nominee.
Demand Justice was founded by Fallon and was designed to fight for progressive change, according to the organizations website....

Jesus, Mary and Joseph.
To the extent the charge is true (not bloody likely), this is GREAT!
Demand Justice opposed any Trump nomination. Now these goobers at the Bolshevik Examiner give them a forum for the stupidity they just made up.
Trump strategy to stop the silent coup going on at SCOTUS.
Without SCOTUS, no coup is possible.
All part of the Soros plan to dismantle America brick by brick.
I think these idiot liberals really believe what they say sometimes. Do they really think this supreme court nomination was just another Russian conspiracy?
Been trollin on DU because it’s kinda dull here tonite. I don’t know much about this nominee, but I figured “they” would be freaking out about it.
Trump. You sposed to make ‘em mad bro....
Best comment I’ve seen so far is (no...not linking it)....
“I’m hoping I can schedule a colonoscopy for tomorrow morning. I’ll be busy getting ready for that.”
Kavanaugh is a threat to all of our civil liberties isn’t he?
Isn’t he wanting to see women impaled on coat hangers?
I heard somebody criticize his record on environment issues. My God, he wants us to have dirty air and dirty water. He hates a clean environment.
All sarcasm, to make the point, that the left is going to make this man the biggest threat to our nation since, well, since at least Trump was elected.
Oh, damn, I had this all wrong. I thought Kavanaugh was a Putin plant.
Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
The Dems aren’t that unhappy with this pick. They were expecting a real firebreather. They know they dodged a bullet. There will be some faux outrage, but he will pass.
Schumer might even come up and make nice with Trump.
Odd that they pick this out to whine about
Just who was President in 2009 and deserved to be indicted for Fast and Furious?
All I’ve really seen about this guy *that matters in my brain* is that Trump thinks he’s the Judge that other Judges go to.
Has he set precedents? In our favor?
Maybe this is just a ploy to install a mostly conservative judge........but not such a rabid one.
So they don’t get too mad and will still work with him.........
Knowing he’s going to appoint at least one more in his 8 year gig.
Winning with secret winning jelly filling?
The Clinton’s always believed that once they got to be President, all of their legal problems went away.
I’ll take Kavanaugh, despite being for Amal Thapur. Maybe next time.
Bushie nominee, Trump reaching out to the one wing of the Bush family he can deal with (hasn’t insulted). Kavanaugh is strong Executive Power.
Dems outraged that President Trump would dare to nominate someone who would base decisions on what’s actually in the U.S. Constitution.
Who was president in 2009?
Oh, I remember now.
The dems should be looking at his russian connectiond
“Knowing hes going to appoint at least one more in his 8 year gig.”
Thomas could easily decide to retire at the end of the next session.
For a bunch of morons who claim they are the smartest people in the universe, they sure are a bunch of stupid bastards.
