Mitch is such a pansy.
a wife should stick for her husband, especially if that husband has the backbone of a bowl Jell-O. lol

Elaine clearly has much bigger cojones than Mitch.
And no woman is under obligation to take the husband’s last name. It is custom, after all, and not any part of any law code in force in the United States.

And no woman is under obligation to take the husbands last name. I would be personally insulted if a woman did not want to take my name. I would not marry her. But at least McConnell didn't take his wife's last name. That be even worse.

Standing up isn’t something Mitch has a lot of experience with.

McConnell explained he told his wife to hop into the waiting car, but Chao leapt into action.... While Mitch leapt into the safety of the back seat, under some covers
"Go get 'em, hon!"

The taking of a husband’s last name is a custom-not a law-it was brought here by the Brits and others of Anglo Saxon ancestry, from places where it is common. Those of other ethnic ancestry-Latino, Asian, etc do not do the name changing as much-it isn’t a big deal. Elaine rocks for going on the attack for the rude harassment...

That is a personal preference-my 1st hubby was just fine with me keeping my surname-like myself, he was of American Latino ancestry, and his mom had kept hers-MrT5 asked me to take his because he was career military and he thought it was less confusing, so I did-since his death, I use his surname followed by mine. mine...

Actually Mitch can barely stand up for himself, as a victim of polio in his youth, he still suffers on his legs!
Glad Mitch married a Tiger Mama!

Perhaps Yertle can learn a lesson from his wife and man-up re: dealing with the Rats, inside and outside of congress.
If he isn’t willing to man-up, he needs to go home and put a skirt on.

She is a tough, smart cookie.
Sen. McConnell deserves some credit for picking her as his wife, and getting her to accept.
She could be a great Secretary of State, or Homeland Security or, Defense.
