Democrats are losing the millennial vote and need to change message
The Manchester Guardian ^ | June 24, 2018 | Cas Mudde

Ever since their shock defeat in November 2016, Democrats have sought comfort in the age-old proverb that “our kids are our future”. After all, Hillary Clinton decisively won the youth vote, with 55% of millennials voting for her, while Donald Trump could not muster more than one-third. So does that mean the future is looking rosy?

In the past few months, the liberal media has seen hope in America’s youth. A AP-Norc/MTV Youth Political Pulse poll found that only a minority (33%) of young Americans approve of the way Trump is handling his job of president, while the majority believe that the president is “mentally unfit” (60%), “generally dishonest” (62%) or “a racist” (63%). In line of these findings, Vox triumphantly headlined: “The kids are not all right with Donald Trump.”

Similarly, a Pew Research Center study of the “generational gap in American politics” was met with hopeful coverage. It found, among other things, that millennials have by far the most negative views of Trump, having tumbled from a 64% job approval rating for President Obama in 2009-2010 to a dismal 27% approval of Trump in 2017-2018. It also found that millennials self-identify much less as conservative and much more as liberal than previous generations....

We don't need the youth vote at this point in time and with us garnering more of the black and Latino vote the Dems have no other wells to tap. Whites are already on Trump's side and I'm guessing Korean-Americans are coming around too.

Typical and normal. Once we all found out Uncle Sam was taking from our checks, it jolts you to the right.

need to change message

No it isn't the message friends, but the utter lack of substance delivered by either the left wing or right wing of the uniparty.

The era of worrying about "messaging" begun by BJC and his minions like Podesta and McLarty and Sidvicious and other favorites from that era, is over. It's delivery that counts. The message from GOPeer uniparty members isn't selling either.

You need to improve your souls.

Every time the MSM runs a story about the illegals on the border, it’s a GOP campaign ad to the black communities.....”See, we keep telling you they are taking your jobs and now they want more of your jobs”

These employers that are forcing millennials into group political therapy sessions is really angering their employees and backfiring. These companies are insulting and showing their true colors. If a company does that, it is time to change jobs because you won’t like future policies.

Trump Rally in Duluth...From Powerline Blog

At least 25 percent of the audience was under the age of 30, and around 40 percent were women. The senior citizen percentage was less than 10 percent — the lowest I’ve ever seen at a Republican event. Other than the hundred or so party leaders, this was a vastly different crowd from the Minnesota Republican Convention that I attended in Duluth three weeks ago. None of the attendees I spoke with in the concession line at the rally were politically active (other than voting) and none were born-and-bred Republicans.

. . . need to change their message. But that's the entire problem! The Dems don't stand for anything concrete, for a philosophy. They make up their "beliefs" on the fly, changing them to match the latest poll results or to capture a particular demographic.

Absolutely every time they tell the per person cost of immigrants. The black communities must think where is our cut. I actually wish more money was going to the bigger cities and less to the border. I think it is a better investment long term.

Only message they have is hate for us and love for illegals.

Nothing there for Americans.

Hillary was using the 1992 playbook that got hubby elected. It just doesn’t resonate today. And her harping on the glass ceiling may be more detrimental than beneficial.

But you can’t tell politicians much. They think they know it all.

Dems, in general, are in the same situation. Their issues are the same issues that have been around for decades. Their last 2 presidents each had 2 terms and each did very little to resolve any of the problems they ran on or ran against.

Not only the 40 million or so actual abortions, but the next generation and the next that multitude shall never have now.

Even the worst that the Nazi death camps could have not matched that degree of population suppression.

They weren’t there to “resolve”, but exacerbate. Rule by crisis, and try to use that to get the people to give them more power—because power is not a means but an end, to them.

I guess “Trump voters must die” isn’t working.

Democrats … need to change message …

That's the eternal problem of the communist left -- they have no principles, no purpose, no reason to exist except raw power, driven by pure, unadulterated evil.

They use whatever "message" will help them gain or retain control. They change "messages" like wet clothing, sometimes between paragraphs.

What they really need to do is to become human. Not likely to happen.

Hillary Clinton decisively won the youth vote, with 55% of millennials voting for her.

Just think of how many more votes she could've gotten if her fellow demonicRATS hadn't aborted some 50 million voters over the last 40 years.

Is that reason enough for Conservatives to become pro-choice?

Discuss.

The 2016 election reminded me of the 1992 election, except this time the Clintons were the befuddled, confused, disoriented candidates who were always 3 steps behind then-candidate, NOW PRESIDENT Donald J. Trump
