Alabama Senate candidate Doug Jones's surging campaign is in danger of falling short in its must-reach goal of energizing African-American voters, the Washington Post reported.
"As of this day, I would say no," retired UPS worker Donald Williams told the Post about enthusiasm among black voters. "And this is Doug Jones's problem. He's got to get out and get the voters energized."
Amid a string of sexual misconduct allegations that've rocked the campaign of GOP candidate Roy Moore, the Jones camp believes he could pull off an unlikely victory if he can mobilize African-American voters, who make up about a quarter of Alabama's electorate and tend to vote heavily Democratic.
"Right now, many African Americans do not know there is an election on December 12," Democratic State Sen. Hank Sanders told the Post.
The Post reported that Democrats working on the race believe Jones must secure more than 90 percent of the black vote while boosting black turnout to 25 to 30 percent similar to levels that turned out for President Barack Obama....

Wont happen.
What if he had his posterior enhanced with injections of automotive grade silicon, would that help?
How is that possible, with all of the media attention on Roy Moore?
Why would Alabama blacks want to go out of their way to vote for someone who wants the government to finance the murder of black babies?
.
Black Alabamans will not vote against a solid christian.
.
Even if they do know, they dont care. They only turned out for Obama because of his skin color. He thanked them by using them. Just like all Democrats do
They don’t know there’s an election, but that won’t stop some precincts from having 110% turnout.
They did run a black Democratic candidate in the primary...Pastor Will Boyd. Boyd’s notoriety and public exposure was to one single county in the state, and he had virtually no way to get recognized in the short period of time involved in this special election. From the one interview I saw of the guy...he came across in a positive way and could at least talk to state issues. Beyond that, Boyd had no support structure behind him.
For Jones to win, he needs a massive showing of black voters. In a normal election year, with various offices up for grabs, I think Jones, with this fake accusation business, would have had a better chance of winning. But this is an election without a lot of issues.
Jones, to be honest....is only known for the most part in the north part of the state. In the past, newspapers in the state would have ‘carried’ Jones weekly and made him more known. But generally....most folks in Alabama have given up on the newspapers, and I doubt if you can find more than one in six adults who read a paper regularly. A lot of the state newspapers are down to printing maybe three or four times a week. The local news column in most papers now is limited to one single page.
So Jones is facing a near impossible task. Most folks are skeptical of the accusation story. Most folks are negative about McConnell. Most folks also feel the bulk of GOP characters running around the state are tainted or corrupt (Moore is one of the few without that tainted situation). With the exception of the three or four urbanized areas of the state....the state is three-quarters Republican at this point.
“Surging”?
The dems have been there and done that.
There is no energy left to do it again.
Another money burn by Democrats on this race.
The MSM is already pivoting on this one and saying that Moore will be a liability once he wins. Will hurt Republicans nationally.
Post Obama, blacks aren’t going to turn out in 60%+ numbers unless the candidate is black. The Dems based 2016 on Obama’s record turnout numbers and no way that was going to happen.
Roy Moore should reach out to blacks just like Trump did - directly and honestly.
After free Obama phones, what else is there to offer? You could offer black voters a free canvas tote bag, silkscreened with a picture of Doug Jones. Or maybe a free CD "20 Inspiring Moments In Doug Jones's Life" would turn the tide.
Doug boy, you gotta think outside the box. By the way, Doug, I know where you can get some guacamole bowls, cheap, real cheap.
Because white Alabama Democrats won't vote for a black candidate.
This is what happens when you go to the well too many times.
They haven’t tried the “Klan” accuation yet:
“Judge Moore promised i could play with the puppy. then he lynched me wearing a white hood. Then he autographed my yearbook.”
No joke. It’s like saying that many people are not aware that Christmas is coming up soon.
Racist quote;
Right now, many African Americans do not know there is an election on December 12,” Democratic State Sen. Hank Sanders told the Post.
that’s rasis!
