Jeb Bush offered some rare praise Friday for President Donald Trump and the way he's handling two back-to-back hurricanes.

"President Trump has done a good job keeping, showing his concern for the victims of Harvey and I'm sure he'll do the same (for Irma)," the former two-term Florida governor said on CNN's "New Day." "The key, though, is to make sure Washington's here for the long haul, for the long-term.

The intense hurricane season is all too familiar for Bush, who dealt with the catastrophic storm seasons of 2004 and 2005, in which eight hurricanes and four tropical storms slammed into Florida. He won accolades for his leadership at the time and it became a selling point he sought to highlight during his unsuccessful bid for president in 2016....

Why does any ‘praise’ for Pres. Trump given by Jeb! make me so nervous?
I think I trust him (and the rest of the Bush Family) even less than I trust John McCain. Especially after that Sour Grapes performance of 2012.

As I recall Jeb was praised for doing a good job handling hurricanes. I don’t see this as anything but a compliment.

Maybe that’s all there is to it. You may be right, considering that Jeb used to be Governor of Florida from 1999 to 2007.

Jeb was mentioned as having done a good job as the Florida Gov when hurricanes hit (9 during his tenure). He must have perked up and is trying for some vicarious remembrances of how he did good at something....

These are the situations where Trump shines. His whole life has been running organizations focused on a single goal; building yuge structures.

Maybe the Bushes are waking up--too late.

If they had been smart--and as dedicated to America and the American Dream as we thought they were, the Bushes would have jumped on Trump's bandwagon at the very beginning--when WE did.

However, they have proven that they are either (1) not smart or (2) not dedicated to America and the American Dream or (3) both.

Trump's handling of the hurricanes has been stellar. His enemies have truly been rocked back on their heels. When the first hurricane hit (Harvey), Trump's enemies were literally rubbing their hands in glee, in anticipation that Trump could be portrayed as a bumbler out of his league. They were hoping to catch him in a "George Bush" moment, like when GWB was staring at the devastation of Katrina down below from the comfort of Air Force One.

Trump completely turned the tables on them. Not only did he make multiple trips to the affected areas but he ensured that federal resources were perfectly coordinated with state and local resources to have immediate impact. Down in Florida, there are already immense resources waiting to help and the storm hasn't even hit yet. There is even a FEMA app that people can load before the storm hits so that they can get aid all the quicker.

President Trump has been utterly masterful in his handling of the hurricanes and his enemies can literally do nothing but praise him. You saw the backlash the media got when they tried to make an issue out of Melania's high heels. I think that was the straw that broke the camel's back - good people have had enough of the media's incessant war against a good man who is doing an excellent job for us in the White House. I think the media was stunned at the fury that came at them after the petty attack on Melania's footwear.

Corner has been turned. It is clear that the American people are behind this president and the rest can either come along for the ride or become irrelevant.

Even the Democrat Governor of Louisiana praised Trump for his handling of Harvey. Nothing to see here.
