KING: To defeat Trump, Dems need a primary cast for the ages
The New York Daily News ^ | August 2, 2017 | Shaun King

Posted on 08/03/2017 6:21:42 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

The United States won't officially elect its next President until 2020. Between now and then, we should all be focused on local elections, essential congressional races, and pushing for meaningful reforms addressing voting rights and criminal justice every chance we get. I'm all about that.

However, here's what I know — the next presidential race has already started. Donald Trump has already begun political fundraising and potential opponents, including some from within his own party, are already having private discussions on what it would look like to beat Trump. This next campaign will be the longest, most expensive campaign in American history and as much as people who are considering opposing Trump will deny it's even on their mind — that's what they are supposed to say.

I actually think that Donald Trump is going to be hard to beat. Anybody saying otherwise is delusional and grossly misunderstands how he got elected in the first place. He is about as nebulous a political foe as one could have. He changes positions on the fly. He lies at will. His character is so poor, his integrity so vacant, that pointing out such gaping flaws seems to have no effect on him.

Seventeen Republicans who thought he was a joke — someone who would crash, burn and bow out of the race — found out about his political might the hard way. Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party learned the same lesson. And here's the thing: his negatives are awful and his approval rating is terrible, but that was already the case when he won his primary and the general election to become the next President of the United States.

Donald Trump should not be underestimated. He'll say or do anything to suck the wind out of the news cycle. His reach and influence on social media are immense and are only rivaled by a tiny handful of people in the world. He's dirty. He doesn't fight fair. And now he has the powers of the federal government behind him.

To defeat Donald Trump, the Democrats must run a stellar cast of all-stars in their primary. That's not what happened in the past election. It was effectively a coronation for Hillary Clinton. Bernie Sanders and Martin O'Malley were afterthoughts. Other candidates, like Joe Biden and Elizabeth Warren, were discouraged from challenging her. And while Bernie ended up winning over 20 contests, the whole Democratic apparatus was heavily tilted her way.

This time must be different. I'm a huge supporter of Bernie Sanders, and hope that he runs again, but this race needs to be one for the ages. It needs so much substance and so much star power, that the debates and campaign events have to be able to break through the Trumpian news cycle to get the attention of the entire nation.

Bernie should run. Joe Biden should run. Elizabeth Warren should run. I know this sounds crazy, but I'd even be game if Hillary Clinton ran again. Democrats need to put out their strongest cast of characters. Cory Booker should run. Kamala Harris should run. Deval Patrick, who is being talked about as an Obama favorite, should run. Julian Castro should run. Kirsten Gillibrand should run. I'd even be OK with California Governor Jerry Brown running. I wish Michelle Obama and Al Gore would run.

The point is this — if Democrats are going to be competitive, it can't be a coronation for any one person. I just named 12 candidates. If those 12 candidates ran, every debate they had would be must-see TV. The candidates on that list that likely won't run, such as Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama, aren't even necessary for that race to capture the heart and minds of the nation. The bottom line, though, is that it has to be truly competitive and any widely respected politician or leader who thinks they have a great vision for America needs to get in the race.

What can't be the case is that the best candidates available opting not to run because the political machines of this country told them it was somebody else's time. Polls be damned — this needs to be a political race of historic, epic proportion if it's going to capture the heart and minds of enough people not just to win the popular vote, but to win the Electoral College.

To defeat Trump, Dems need to lie to the voters about who and what they really are.

Same as always.

The Democrat’s problem is finding someone who is acceptable to the hardcore communists and racists that constitute the majority of their party, who can then present him- or herself as a moderate to the general electorate.

Last time, everybody agreed it was her turn, and Hillary was able to waltz to the nomination (with a little help from Li’l Debbie, the media, the multinationals, and the party officials who counted the votes and flipped the coins).

I’m not sure the party elites will line up behind the candidate whose turn it is, next time. Would that be New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo? He’s not a woman or a minority. Maybe he could be a gay or a tranny.

Unless Cuomo consolidates the party elites, if there are two or more “centrist Democrats,” some Trotskyite radical like Elizabeth Warren will take the nomination.

Fake black guy asks a lot of old white people, some black and semi-black people to run. And a token Hispanic in there?
Sounds entertaining!
I hope they all spend a bazillion dollars and exhaust themselves.

As someone that originally saw Trump as a Democrat that ran as a Republican and didn’t possess any ability to articulate true Conservative principles I’m now more than ever, impressed.

Trump is Winning !!!

And I frick’n love it !!!

The libtards heads are spinning while the American people are standing with Trump against this entire circus of corruption that IS the Swamp.

More and more Americans are realizing that the media/Democrats are trying to sell them a bag of crap and it’s been Trump and only Trump that has turned the tables on them.

The momentum has shifted since the firing of Reince Priebus and the performance of Miller on Immigration.

Mueller had to “Make news” in an attempt to reclaim an offensive posture and Trump has relegated the left into bunch of bitter losers and everybody with half a brain gets this.

Trump is now on top. !!!

It’s time to destroy them.

I never thought he had it in him to actually destroy the political class but now is the time to strike, now is the time to show the American people what they voted for.

The Future is Now !!!!

To win: the Dems will need to lie & and get massive amounts of voter fraud as usual.

But Trump will still win, all the Gary Johnson folks will break his way in 2020.

Hey, Shaun, Maduro might be available by the time 2020 rolls around. Yeah, I know; he wasn’t born in the U.S., but that never stopped you before, when you ran Barack Hussein Obama. And, Maduro is the best representative of liberal values that your party could ever find. So, go for it.

If we consider the democrat bench to be all democrat governors and senators, that bench has about 60 people. If we eliminate white men because it would be difficult to ever nominate another white man as a democrat, then the democrat bench is 21 people, alomost what the republicans started out with in 2016.

As long as those are the only names that the Democrats can come up with, that party has no future.

“Welcome to the All-New Presidential Apprentice. Here in Washington DC, 12 of the finest Democrats this country has to offer will vie to see if they can take on me, President Trump, in November, 2020. We’re going to put these people through the most demeaning work, the most pressure-filled tasks with no aides, no secretaries, no spokespeople, only their own wits.

Who, if any, will have what it takes to survive the process? And which losers will be left blubbering about racism, sexism, homophobia and just plain meanness?”

Which candidate can be...the Presidential Apprentice?”

money,money,money,money....money.
money,money,money,money....money....

Hey now. Math is your friend.

Deliver an even bigger majority in 2018 to set up redistricting in 2020.

Here are some real math numbers.

1st. 2018 is not going to end well for them. They have 25 seats up, with 11 vulnerable. Compare that to the Republicans who have only seats up with merely 2 vulnerable.

Let’s just say losing 30% cor the Dems would be a friggin disaster but, not as bad as 2020....more later.

2nd. SCOTUS...3 more turns at bat over the next 8 years.

3rd. Federal Judges. Over the next 7.5 years we will realign more than 1/2 or more than 700 Federal Judges and may even break up pesky courts like the 9th.

Hell, we could replace a few annoying judges in Hawaii.

4th. The Wall.

5th. Obamacare will be repealed.

6th. Lower Capital gains tax and offer enticing tax advantages to repatriate some of the $3 Trillion offshore and put that capital to work investing in factories and new business ideas.

This will invigorate the economy.

7th. 2020. Dems have 11 Senate seats up, compared to 22 for Republicans.

We probably have a net gain of 3 for the Senate.

All 435 seats in Congress are up but, if we can get the issues of healthcare coverage, The economy and the wall in progress as well at least SCOTUS we will probably have an increase in the house as well(I am still studying that batlefield and don’t have numbers yet)

So why all the fighting from the Dems and these charges which are no more than vapor?

Well, their product sucks. Its a stew of hate, Socialism/Marxist utopian ideals and more segregation of society by invented classes of aggrieved people.

But, the real kicker is this about Reapportionment. Can you say Entropy?

8. Yeah that’s right. With more wins under the belt of the Republicans we will have a larger swath of land to carve up because the census will take place, which the predicate for redistricting and guess who wins that fight no matter what?

Republicans and we get an increase in key states we will continue to win. Alabama, Georgia and Florida will gain 1 more representative in the house, who will likely be a Republican

However, Texas will gain 3 or 4 representatives locking up the south for Republicans over the next decade.

So, in 2020 we will gain further majorities in the house and senate, redistrict in our favor, we will be in the middle of an economy that out performs all other nations, 2 SCOTUS or more will be seated in our favor, 300-400 Federal judges are seated Obamacare/Check, Tax Policy/Check, The Wall/Check, Fair Trade/Check, ISIS Dead/Check, Russia petitions for statehood (jus kee dean), Trump Re-elected / Yuge Check.

And the dems wander the wilderness for 10 years because they stand zero chance of doing anything significant after 2020.

And the DNC is not only running an insane $3.5 million dollars in debt but, their fundraising is at the lowest in 14 years.

And they have no candidate for 2020 as yet but, their current financial or intellectual leadership.

Oh, and that Trump meme “ He’s going to step down!” Uhmmm...Boo Chit.

He’s already fundraising for his 2020 PAC with $12,000,000 cash on hand.

That’s right. After disbursements he’s got $12 million.

That’s debt free money.

Oh, and the RNC is cash flow positive with $44,000,000 in the bank.

I ask you, at this point, who is going to win?

Conclusion:
Democrats are so broke they can’t pay attention and have zero money to support any war but.

Cheap azz Chinese knockoff of an intellect.

So, get use to Donald Trump being president for 8 years.

If the Democrats did something to reach the mass of US voters they would no longer be Democrats. They would have to adopt ideals that are repugnant to their agendas. They have yet to realize that main stream voters are not interested in supporting a hoard of illegals, they are not interested in pervert’s rights, they are not interested in seeing their wages spent on lazy welfare recipients. They are certainly not fooled by the “live like a king while you subjects are living like serfs” as many of the Democrat politicians are doing now
