Republicans make excuses for Trump’s behavior, but continue to back him. All this anti-Trump energy would be better spent organizing for the coming election
The latest New York Times blockbuster revealing the president’s son, Donald Trump Jr, knowingly accepting a meeting in 2016 with a Russian lawyer in the hope of getting damaging information on Hillary Clinton is making waves across Washington DC. But if people think that this latest story is definitely going to lead to criminal charges against Trump Jr, or force the president from office, it’s time for a reality check.
The journalism displayed by the Times and the Washington Post pushing the Trump-Russia story forward has unquestionably been laudable, but the real question is where does this leave the Trump administration.
While pro-impeachment advocates scream “treason!” on Twitter every time a new story is published, the truth is much more complicated. Some legal experts wonder whether the Trump clan actually did break any laws in their interactions with Russian nationals, even if their behavior pre-election was incredibly shady, unethical and nefarious.
Look no further than Susan Hennessey and Benjamin Wittes, two prominent national security figures and Trump critics, who explained in Foreign Policy last week that “collusion”, in and of itself may not be a criminal problem for Trump so much as a political one. (Hennessy and Witte’s article came before the latest Trump Jr story, but there’s also reason to be skeptical about assertions that Trump Jr broke the law by taking a meeting with the Russian lawyer as well.)
The Robert Mueller special counsel investigation into Trump and Russia could take years to complete. And it probably won’t directly lead to Trump himself being indicted. Mueller is likely to submit his findings on Trump himself to Congress for action rather than bringing an indictment.....

The goal of Russia would be to weaken Trump as he was far more unpredictable than Hillary. Have him focus on internal U.S. politics instead of worrying about Russia’s plans. Obama/Hillary gave Putin free reign over Eastern Europe and didn’t life a finger to stop him.
So the Dem party is fulfilling Russia’s goals without Russia having to lift a finger.

Since the New York Times and the Washington Post are both for-profit political corporations, shouldn’t their journalists be charged with criminal collusion because they have actively sought, and reported on, leaked details of this story?
Although meeting with someone for opposition research is not criminal, if it were what Hillary and the DNC did was worse. Trump met with someone, no info passed. DNC met with Ukraine officials, on Ukrainian territory, got info from them and used it against the Trump campaign. DNC officials - including Hillary and Podesta were involved. Though not a peep from the MSM on this.
Anyone with an ounce of decency accompanied by a brain which can think well enough to look for truth can see through all of this. It is an attempted coup being ushered in by a media so besotted by a passion for securing a dictatorship in America with them being an important part of it that they do not care how they get there. Also, I believe the hatred for the Christian community by the now very powerful LGBTQ organizations spearheaded by lots of people in the top levels of our institutions, including the media are behind so much of this that it would boggle our minds to know the numbers involved. It is likely that the current situation will result in some kind of crisis which will result either in killing off America or renewing her traditional values so that she can recover and survive. And the DC swampthings and the elitist masters they represent are not. We knew it is bad, but who knew how bad it is until President Trump started to "drain the swamp"?
The media refuses to report anything good that Trump has done the only game the have it give pretend news it makes the losers feel better.
No telling what Billy Jeff put in. But Obama also had 8 years to fill the swamp with this cancer.

Most of the time I can at least see what the other side is riled up about, but I am completely missing the boat on this one.
Also, are these people entirely blind to the Uranium deal and the many “shady, unethical and nefarious” quid pro quo deals by the Clintons?
