Trump Will Win Bigly in 2020
PJ Media ^ | April 13, 2017 | Roger L. Simon

Posted on 04/14/2017 8:19:48 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

I have bad news for the mainstream media and the Democrats. Time to stock up on absinthe or hightail it down to the medical marijuana store -- Donald Trump is going to be president for eight years. Not only that, he will win reelection much more comfortably, easily winning the popular vote as well as the electoral college.

I'm not saying this because I am in the slightest bit psychic. I always lose in Vegas -- and don't even ask about the track. I'm also not saying it because Trump just had a good week, getting his Supreme Court pick through and taking it to Assad and ISIS, earning him a slight bump in the polls. (They don't mean anything now anyway.)

I am saying it for same reason I predicted Trump would win his first term back in August 2015 -- simple observation of the scene. I should add observation from afar because I have the advantage of watching from Los Angeles. The view is too distorted in the nation's capital where, at least it seems from here, no one can stand each other. (That's okay. People in Hollywood are exactly the same.)

Yes, you can say I'm being stupid and rash to make such an early prediction, but that's just what I was accused of in 2015. So go ahead and call me anything you want. Make my day -- November 3, 2020.

Okay, but why?

To begin with, the media (his main opposition party) has completely blown it in less than the allotted one hundred days. By attacking Trump every which way at once, calling him a racist, sexist, homophobe, Islamophobe, isolationist and warmonger -- yes, the last two are completely contradictory, but that doesn't stop the geniuses in our Fourth Estate -- they have literally turned into the journalistic version of the boy who cried wolf. No one believes them anymore, assuming they ever did in the first place.

And it's only going to get worse because the Trump-Russia scandal is an obvious dud while the Obama-Trump surveillance contretemps could have legs, as we say hereabouts.

The situation is even more dire for the Democratic Party itself. Their geriatric leaders have the charisma of pithed frogs with no successors in sight. More ominously, liberal-progressivism is completely out of ideas. There's no there there except hating everything Trump does -- even eating steaks well done -- and marching around in pussy hats demanding equal rights when many more women are attending college and now law school than men. (Someone should write a Carlyle-style history of the feminist movement from Gloria Steinem to Linda Sarsour.)

Meanwhile, Trump holds the cards. He's a pragmatic center-right businessman in what is still an essentially pragmatic center-right nation. For all his fits and starts, he's making many Americans feel good about their country again. We're not leading from behind anymore. We're back in front. We're the superpower and we're acting for good. China -- the second power in the world -- is already acknowledging that.

People say Trump flip-flops, but who doesn't except rigid ideologues? Flip-flopping can be construed as a good thing, an adaptability to ever-changing situations. Most of us do that, whether we admit it or not.

Nevertheless, Trump has a core. He moves forward with his basics even as he revises them. He's already done a substantial amount of deregulating with more to come. He may not ever build a complete border wall, but illegal immigration is already down substantially just because existing laws are being enforced for once. Oil pipelines are opening. Trade deals are being renegotiated. People are going back to work and consumer confidence is up. And does anyone doubt he'll get some form of tax reform done eventually? I don't.

Healthcare will remain difficult, because it has no good solution. All systems are imperfect. But there is an area in which I predict he will make tremendous inroads that will change our political landscape -- our minority communities. Trump has promised to help African-Americans and he will do it. (No wonder Maxine Waters is apoplectic.) No one else has done this from either party for decades, but Trump will. And he will doubtless bring in the private sector that will make his work all the more successful. It won't just be the same failed government programs we have seen for the last fifty years.

If this makes even ten percent more of the black community swing his way, that's the end of identity politics and the end of the Democratic Party as we know it. It's not just Maxine who should be worried and calling for Trump's impeachment. With identity politics even partially vanquished, 2020 will be the proverbial walk in the park for Republicans.

Here's my last optimistic prediction: Trump's recent foreign policy successes will generate domestic opportunities. Success breeds success. Look for the Republican log jams on healthcare and taxes to break soon. No, my eyesight isn't 2020, but I can see that year from here without my glasses.

Rush was saying today that Trump’s approval numbers are on the rise.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There is one issue that a flip flop will seriously erode his support.
Illegal aliens.
He must end the illegal DACA program.
He must secure the border.
He must enforce the law on ALL illegal aliens, not just the felon illegal aliens.
We should not have to wait until illegal aliens harm or kill Americans before they are removed.
There are NO “law-abiding” illegal aliens.
All this, and The Deplorables are starting to itch for "new decorations" on the cherry trees in The Swamp - namely, mouthy seditionists...
Bring that "impeachment" cr@p, and find out who's your Huckleberries, you Johnny Ringo Democrats...
I think 4 years and Trump will have had enough. He can live freer and make more money without the White House.
Trump is going establishment. I think in 2020 it will be back to voting against the Democrat and not for Trump. I hope I am wrong.
I agree. I’m thrilled he is where he is right now, but four years to a 70 y/o rich man may seem like quite enough in one presidential sitting.
His energy is stellar and remarkable for any age.
While some people fuss over the penny ante stuff, Trump is one by one fulfilling his promises and as the Xi visit proved, has already risen from “Hitler” to “Incompetent” and even all the way to “Competent” in the eyes of many detractors. They’re never going to be fans, no more than most of us were of Obama, but on the rare occasion when Obama did something right, we acknowledged it, and that’s about the best Trump can hope for among the liberals and media crowd. But those aren’t the ones who voted for him, so while he will be “not Hitler” to his enemies he will move into “Best President Ever” with his supporters.
I agree. At his age he’ll figure he’s done well getting things back on the right track and Pence will be the nominee in 2020.
And, the GOP, all by themselves, will continue to find successful ways to screw up, on many issues! All of the non-conservatives from within the entire GOP must be, successfully, defeated, asap! No more “Big Tent GOP”!
Read what was written here:
“He’s a pragmatic center-right businessman in what is still an essentially pragmatic center-right nation.”
It was not the establishment GOP that elected Trump, but it wasn’t just conservatives eitheer. Rush Limbaugh has made millions by repeating the same “this is a center-right country” for decades, i has never been a “hard right nation”. Thanks to Trump and his supporters, the tilt toward becoming a center-left nation was stopped dead in its tracks before another generation could have made it difficult to reverse.
Lou Dobbs in segment with Steve Forbes tonite said pretty much same thing about going establishment—Dobbs mentioned Cohn is Elite Establishment and how long is Ryan going to sabotage the Trump agenda... Harbingers are Kansas race was tight and Georgia may be beyond close...Montana race in June. Then went on about Hassett—pro-immigration economic advisor...
Good segment—about 30 minutes in.
I think 2020 is a lifetime away in politics—difficult if not impossible to predict in April 2017.
Trump’s EPA has allotted $100 million to Help fix Flint Michigans water problems.
This alone should help him win a few more votes in Michigan.
Hard to imagine a scenario where the dems lose Michigan and win in 2020.
” make more money without the White House.”
uh, he was already making more money before the White House; you think he thought he’d make MORE than that IN the White House? Maybe 1.5 billion in the White House instead of the billion before the White House?
Seriously?
Who wouldn’t rather run the world instead of making an extra billion? You don’t think George Soros would kill (a few million if necessary) to be where Trump is? Or billionaires Tom Steyer or Mark Cuban?
It’s funny how so many people here attacked me for sticking with Cruz until he dropped out but you’re all abandoning Trump before he’s in six months, especially over bogus reports that his daughter is running the show. Incredible.
Who’s to say he will even run in 2020?
What if by hard work and chance, the man cleaned up the smelly, infested swamp in only 4 years? Would he say
“I’ve done my job” and walk? He came to DC with one goal in mind - MAGA. Once that goal is reached, he will have won and, in turn, moved on to greater things.
The country is way to polarized for Trump to win “bigly” in 2020. People that voted for Hillary in 2016 just hate Trump and they will vote again for the Democrat nominee in 2020. Add to the mix those who were between 14 and 17 in 2016, a vast majority of them will be Democrat voters as well.
Trump could still take the electoral vote in similar numbers as in 2016, alifornia alone ensures his losing the popular vote. I am on the ground here and Trum is more hated her now than he was on election day. No way he turns tge tide here.
Isn’t the case regarding the Immigration Pause and the 9th Circus now on the docket with one of the District Courts? I’m confident that when the courts clarify that POTUS indeed DOES have the authority to regulate and control immigration; at that point you’ll see him continue taking action, and winning, just as he has in so many other areas in these first 90 odd days. JMHO.
Maybe, maybe not.
No real law on books. Only EOs that can be recinded by next President.
Thought we had a world class negotiator, not a go along to get along convert of the uniparty and global communists.
Just who is advising President Trump?
Now congress isn’t going to fund a whole wall. So disappointed.
