Clinton losing support among Hispanics

Will Donald Trump’s pivot on immigration and his trip to Mexico change the way Hispanic voters view him? I don’t know. But quite apart from anything Trump is doing, Hispanics view Hillary Clinton less favorably than they did earlier this year.

According to the Washington Post, a new Latino Decisions poll found that 70 percent of registered Hispanic voters say they will definitely vote for Clinton or were leaning towards doing so. That’s not a bad number, but it’s down 6 points from April.

Moreover, the same survey found that only 55 percent of Hispanics view Clinton favorably. That’s down from 71 percent in April.

The poll indicates that the decline is Clinton’s favorability rating has not produced a corresponding movement away from Clinton in favor of Trump — presumably because Trump is so unpopular among Hispanics. Imagine if the Republicans had nominated a more palatable candidate who took the same position Trump now holds on dealing with illegal immigrants.

But the poll also suggests that Trump has an opening — one that his new position on immigration might help him exploit, the dishonest portrayal of that position by the mainstream media notwithstanding.

Clinton, though, is not going to stand still when it comes the Hispanic vote. According to the Post, unlike the 2012 Obama campaign, Team Clinton has not been airing Spanish language ads in battleground states. However, this is about to change, with ad buys now slated to target Hispanic voters in Arizona, Florida, and Nevada.

In the end, I think we can expect Clinton to at least match Barack Obama’s margin over Mitt Romney among Hispanics. The big question is whether her turnout of Hispanic voters will match Obama’s. If her favorability rating remains at 55 percent, this seems like a tall order.

One more point. Polls, the Post says, show that Clinton is weakest among Hispanic voters who are English-dominant and U.S. born. Spanish-dominant and foreign born Hispanic voters are more likely to support her.

This finding will surprise no one, least of all the Democrats who have long supported citizenship for illegal immigrants. What’s surprising is that so many Republicans have supported a path to citizenship.

It’s too early to sing the “Ding-Dong” song about Hillary, but I’m still hoping we can.

Let her waste her money on Spanish campaign ads. Only highlights her out-of-step position and further isolate her.

If Republicans had nominated a more “palatable” candidate they would have folded up their tent at the first media “racism” charge—and Hillary would have cleaned their clock.

Can you say McCain and Romney?

Another monkey was let out of their cage and started pounding on a keyboard.

Hispanic immigrants have been voting 70-80% pro-abortion for decades. This is precisely WHY the Democrat party has been importing them.

The Catholic bishops HAVE TO KNOW that immigrants are voting 70-80% pro-abortion, and they continue to call for MORE and MORE immigrants.

I conclude from these facts that the bishops INTEND the same transformation of the electorate as the Democrats intend, namely: an overwhelmingly pro-abortion electorate.

The most prominent Catholic bishops, the real trend-setters, have been pro-abortion. Exhibit One: Bernardin. Exhibit Two: Cupich.

The Pope himself called an abortionist, Emma Bonino, who has killed 10,000 babies “one of Italy’s forgotten greats.” He said this KNOWING she was a FAMOUS abortionist and activist.

In my book, that means we have our first pro-abortion Pope. Formerly pro-life bishops are falling in line with the Pope. Exhibit Three: Chaput.

I don’t get it.

According to the left, if you are Hispanic and you worked hard to qualify to immigrate into the US, learned English, met all of the requirements—you are supposed to be angry at Republicans who want to stamp out illegal entry by unskilled unqualified gold diggers.

Why do so many Hispanics (and other minorities) fall right into the liberal group think trap? According to the left, no one is ever supposed to think independently. If you belong to group X, then you automatically must think A, B, and C, no deviation allowed. When will people throw off the liberal shackles?

The left lumps everyone who is Hispanic into one group. The only thing they have in common is Spanish ancestry and language. There are Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, Cubans, etc., plus latin countries have rather stratified class systems. An unskilled barely literate illegal alien from Mexico has a different perspective than a university graduate from Mexico city. Furthermore there are lots of 3rd, 4th, or more generations removed from immigrating to the US. There are quite a few of them where I live, and many vote Republican.

Hillary is going to have trouble with turnout across all demographics.

Hillary is going to have trouble with turnout across all demographics.

Other than for women, who may vote purely based on gender.

Not all women are going to vote for Hillary. I am not voting for Hillary. I know plenty of Trumpettes.

It’s a very persistent and annoying myth that women love Hillary.

I bet she is losing support among blacks as well. If Trump pulls in 35 -40% of the Hispanic vote and 15 - 20% of the black vote, we’ll see a Trump landslide.

Well said, keep on spitting.

You see it is not racist to want to live apart from many ethnic groups because they vote Big Govt in extreme numbers. That destroys vibrant neighborhoods. Then they blame others for their poor choices.
