Yeah, she did a real bang up job, didn’t she? NO ONE who worked on Cruz’s campaign should ever be employed in politics again. Worst. Campaign. Ever.

HE BURNED ALL HIS BRIDGES IN THE PRIMARY.....there’s no going back.

A desperation move.....Cruz is behind this.

Cruz knows he screwed up bigtime.....”what might have been” will haunt him all the way back to Calgary.

Ron Paul 2008, 2012.

Both times he refused to endorse the eventual Republican nominee, just as Ted Cruz is doing now.

I think it’s instructive that this VP rumor is being floated by a Cruz campaign insider—the communications director no less. Makes you wonder if Cruz has changed his behind the scenes strategy from a last ditch effort to supplant Trump to getting on as his VP (which is what he should have done MONTHS ago, if he had any sense).

Nonetheless, Cruz is a no-go. He breaks the “do no harm” rule for a VP candidate. He has HUGE negatives with many groups of voters, his debating skills are questionable (despite his debating reputation, he got beat up badly in several of the debates); & he is charisma deficient (he seems to have zero ability to appeal to anyone outside his base).

If Trump wants to court the religious conservatives, he would be better off with Huckabee, who has fewer negatives, at least as good debating skills, and who actually has some charisma.

You mean compared to Bush, Paul, Santorum, Kasich, Huckabee, etc.? Do you live in Colorado by any chance?

Yeah, let’s just forget the police officers killed by Huckabee’s parolee.

How many times has Trump expressed disdain for the pols who didn’t honor that pledge? Cruz is the poster boy for lying to get ahead.

My guess is that Ted is too sensitive for that to happen. If he had been a gracious loser, it might have worked, but he’s way too much of a sore loser to take the long view.

I agree. As a one-time Ted Cruz supporter, I had high hopes for him. I even liked the way he didn't originally bash Trump when all the other candidates were attacking. However, when Cruz began to think he had a chance, he abandoned that. I think Cruz thought his biggest opponent would be ¡YEB!, and he set himself up to fight him. When it turned out to be Trump, he got discombobulated.

After attacking Trump, I was turned off by Cruz. He could've set himself up quite well to be Trump's VP, and get easily elected in 2020 or 2024 by being Trump's legislative attack dog.

Unfortunately, I now believe Ted's "Constitutional Conservative" stance is just a schtick. He got his start as a Bushie, he never was inclined to hold to the Constitution (although he's a brilliant debater), and even his injection of religion into his campaign sounded forced and inauthentic (I'm an Evangelical Christian, but I don't like my intellence insulted).

I'm now fully for Trump, and believe he can restore America.

It would cause too much cognitive dissonance among both Trump and Cruz supporters.

Cruz is an unethical, lying piece of dog-shiite. The best he’s suited for is mopping up urine off the Senate bathroom floor... and that would be a promotion.

Three year old post. Nice try. Quite the deception. You’d be right at home working for Lyin’ Ted.

Yup. If there were a shot taken at Mr. T, the first question I would ask is, “Where’s Cruz?”

Cruz hates this country. He has been proving it every day since Trump won the required number of delegates and not supporting Trump as he swore an oath to do for the nominee.

To all you Cruz loyalists: Do any of you think a leader of a foreign power could ever trust Cruz after his unethical behavior starting in Iowa and continuing to this day?

As much as I have wanted to like Cruz
My instincts say he is not to be trusted
And allying with him is a big mistake

No reason to waste time with Transnational Teddy. He brings nothing to the ticket except baggage. Assuming DT picks someone like Mike Pence or Joni Ernst, the remaining #nevertrump/Alwayshillary drama queens will all be able to meet in a waffle house in Dubuque and have room left over.

I would support that ticket automatically.

There will be some rough water, but they could overcome it.
