Could the two most ferocious Republican presidential candidates in a generation put aside their very personal differences and unite for the good of the country? That’s what the communications director for the one who lost said in an Independence Day appearance on CNN.

“I think we’re looking at someone like Newt Gingrich or possibly Chris Christie,” Alice Stewart, Sen. Ted Cruz’s ex-communications director from his 2016 GOP presidential bid, said on CNN when asked whom she thinks presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump will pick as his vice president.

But as to who would be best for Trump in a general election against presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Rodham Clinton, Stewart pushed her old boss Cruz for the job....

Even most conservatives didn’t want Cruz. Imagine how the moderates and independents would view him. He’s a terrible choice.

I don’t expect it to happen, but it wouldn’t be that much different from JFK picking LBJ, or Reagan picking GHWB.

Some ideas are just too idiotic for serious discussion.

My guess is that Ted is too sensitive for that to happen. If he had been a gracious loser, it might have worked, but he’s way too much of a sore loser to take the long view.

Cruz fails the assassination insurance test. The Deep State would love to have someone like Cruz as President.

Why would anyone think Trump would pick Cruz who is
1. Not eligible
2. A globalist
3. A dishonorable, liar
4. IMO, a threat to Trump’s safety

Is Ted Cruz a natural-born citizen eligible to serve as president? [Yes! And I support him! JimRob]

Newt ( work with congress and pretty good delivery on his contract with America). Michelle Bachman always intrigued me as having a lot to offer. Dr Carson maybe?? (add someone who has voted appeal and doesn’t raise GOP-E or ineligibility problems...?)

How about Nelson Cruz of the Seattle Mariners? He is old enough (born in 1980).

Since being born in the US doesn't matter...

There are several Cruz delegates from Arizona who claim they will be voting for him on the first ballot, even though Trump won the AZ primary and they signed the pledge to vote for him.

I blame Cruz for not supporting Trump. If he truly cares about the country, he needs to get over petty resentments. It’s not about Ted Cruz; it’s about saving the country.

[ but it wouldn’t be that much different from JFK picking LBJ ]

And you see how that ended up!!

Considering Cruz Sr. Had connections to Oswald, the coincidence is too much of a possible reality to risk.

Cruz is toxic. Trump would lose votes if Cruz is on the ticket.
