Washington (CNN)Donald Trump's march to the White House encountered fierce resistance from his own party Thursday as senior lawmakers hesitated to endorse him, party luminaries said they'd skip his nominating convention and others pondered the potential of a third-party bid.
House Speaker Paul Ryan said he's "just not ready" to support Trump, becoming the highest elected Republican official to raise concerns about Trump since he became the party's likely standard-bearer this week.
In an interview with CNN's Jake Tapper, Ryan said he wants Trump to unify "all wings of the Republican Party and the conservative movement" and then run a campaign that will allow Americans to "have something that they're proud to support and proud to be a part of." "And we've got a ways to go from here to there," Ryan said.
Trump dug in. Hours after Ryan's announcement, Trump declared in a statement that "I am not ready to support Speaker Ryan's agenda." He added, "Perhaps in the future we can work together and come to an agreement about what is best for the American people. They have been treated so badly for so long that it is about time for politicians to put them first!" Trump continued to highlight Ryan's statements on Friday morning.
So many great endorsements yesterday, except for Paul Ryan! We must put America first and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 6, 2016

The Establishment is truly evil.
“Cruz ran AGAINST Trump. Hillary Clinton is now running AGAINST Trump. Trump is running FOR something to turn the nation in a different direction. Politicians vs a visionary.]”
Great thought!
I tried to listen to Rush Limbaugh yesterday. I learned that, according to Limbaugh, Trump likes to win and does not like to be called a loser. According to Limbaugh, that is how you can get to Trump.
That is rare wisdom on Limbaugh’s part.
Who does not like to win?
Who likes being called a loser?
And how can anyone ever call Trump a loser, based on what he has accomplished, which is a mite more than Limbaugh ever has, to say the least.
See you agree with Trump, he says the GOP (and democrat) leaders are stupid too!
The establishment are self-identifying. Not a great political move in an anti-establishment wave year.
And every day now they are identifying themselves more and more...........
Lets keep those postcards flowing... to Paul Ryan (and our local reps and senators)... Every Monday until Ryan and all the others are ready to support Trump.
Its not over until Trump is actually the Republican nominee, not just the presumptive nominee. Everyone stay focused, and keep voting Trump in the remaining primaries. Keep focused until February 2017.
