Virginia's 10th Congressional District Republicans today nominated their three delegates and three alternates to the Republican National Convention in July, and all three main delegates are backers of Sen. Ted Cruz (R).
State Sen. Dick Black, Mick Staton (Black's son-in-law) and Beau Correll were elected as delegates, while two supporters of front-runner Donald Trump former Loudoun County Supervisor Eugene Delgaudio and past 10th District chairman Howie Lind were elected as alternates. Blaine Dunn, a Cruz supporter, was selected as the third alternate.
Trump narrowly won March's GOP Primary in the commonwealth -- although Sen. Marco Rubio comfortably took the 10th Congressional District. According to a GOP spokesman, Trump will receive 17 Virginia delegates in the first round of balloting at the convention in Cleveland, while Rubio will earn 16 delegates. After the first round of balloting, all of Virginia's delegates will be free to vote for their preferred candidate.
The nomination process at the GOP convention is expected to go beyond the first ballot.
Three local Republicans were also elected to the State Central Committee at today's nominating meeting, including Eve Gleason, Mark Sell and Puneet Ahluwalia. The Virginia GOP SCC establishes party rules and processes....

Don't care if he was born in a manger on July 4th! A "Natural Born" citizen requires two US parents!
Now that he's a Cruz bundler, of course, his position has "evolved"...
I was a delegate in VA-10 four years ago. In the voting for delegates, one Romney delegate and one Ron Paul delegate made the cut on the first ballot. A second Ron Paul delegate was just a few votes shy of making the cut.
Then all the establishment delegate candidates got together and agreed among themselves that all would drop out but one, in order to deny Ron Paul a second delegate.
And thus, VA-10 sent 2 Romney delegates and 1 Ron Paul delegate to the convention that year.
(The state has been redistricted since, so it’s not the same CD10 this time around.)
Well done.
LOLOL!!!!
After the nomination, Virginia is as worthless as NY. Terry McAuliffe will insure Hillary wins his State. He gets SoS out of it.
Those are two VERY different things! Dr. Fukino should stick to medicine and not dabble in constitutional law. I don't care if he was born in the Lincoln bedroom! If Barack Hussein Mohammed Obama, Senior (A British subject from Kenya) is Mr. Obama's father, there is no way he is a natural-born citizen!! Native-born, perhaps, but that's not what the constitution calls for.
Huge!
Lol — Judging by some of their recent comments, the Trumpsters seem to be starting to fear YOU and YOUR POSTS more than they hate Ted Cruz for not surrendering to Trump.
Congratulations on your energy and your stamina.
What I really love is the spamming me with posts I made six and seven years ago.
Another vomit-inducing article about a despicable GOPe robbery. All this just makes it harder to unite behind Trump when he’s the nominee. But these people would rather have Hillary in that case. As the GOP Ways and Means chair said in October 2012: “we won’t be devastated if Obama wins...so long as we keep our committee chairmanships.” This is the Parliament of Whores.
Yeah! That does it. I’m so disheartened and depressed that I’m going to vote for the guy trying to steal the nomination, when we have our primary, instead of Trump.
Yes, a big day for the Virginia GOPe telling their voters yet again, “F*** you, we don’t care which candidate you voted for. We don’t care that you soundly rejected Ted Cruz by hardly giving him any of your votes and placing him in a distant third. We rule over you, and you should shut up and submit.” And then the Cruz devotees, who now whole-heartedly support the machinations of the Party establishment and thumb their noses at regular Republican voters, applaud happily. Personally, I find it disturbing, but obviously there are as many unprincipled, win-at-any-cost types on our side as on the far left. If the Party were doing this in favor of Jeb Bush and against Cruz, we would be hearing a very, very different story from them—and everyone knows it.
Well the difference is that Obama’s mother was underage and didn’t meet the requirements to qualify Obama a US citizen if he was born overseas.
That wasn’t the case with Cruz’s mother.
But then again Trump people seem to ignore the details.
Cruz is filthy.
“... spamming me with posts I made six and seven years ago.”
They probably don’t realize the Constitutional eligibility requirements have changed over the past six and seven years!
Yes, I’m being sarcastic.
Why worry about it? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bigger group of hypocrites on average in the political arena than Cruz supporters. Hypocrisy over birtherism is just the tip of the iceberg.
Just think how many Cruz supporters once thought that lying nearly continually about one’s opponents was immoral, that hiring a famed dirty trickster and running an underhanded campaign was wrong, that the GOP establishment should be stopped rather than defended and strengthened, that the Republican base and regular voters should be listened to instead of circumvented and spat on by the party, that the media often lies and misdirects instead of praising and running with every illegitimate attack the press makes on an opponent, that freedom of thought, speech, and ideas was a positive thing instead of having a small group of people demanding total orthodoxy (according to their views), that victims of radical leftist intimidation should have their free speech rights defended instead of the victims being blamed themselves, that lynch mobs trying to destroy an innocent man’s life because he’s an opponent’s campaign manager are immoral, and that being on the same side as the Bushes, Romney, and Lindsay Graham was a bad thing—all while touting themselves and their candidate as the superior moral Christians in political realm.
That’s not even mentioning how quick they were to blame Trump for the National Enquirer story about Cruz even after several reports came out that it was the Rubio camp that pushed the story, while at the same time freaking out if anyone tied the Melania Trump attack ad with Ted Cruz, even though the ad itself said “support Ted Cruz.” They also seem thrilled at the continual line of dishonest BS about the, at this point, almost inevitable nominee from the Cruz camp, the GOPe, the media, and the Dems, even though that will only serve to make it easier for Hillary to win in Nov. If Cruz were the frontrunner by far instead, they would be calling Republicans “traitors” for doing that. Within a week and a half or less, no one but Trump will have a pathway to winning the nomination from the actual voters, but you won’t hear Cruz or his followers reject hypocrisy and call for Cruz to drop out like he did Kasich in the same situation. How quickly principles go out the door when people want to win by hook or crook and at any cost.
