Rubio Sweeps Puerto Rico, Cruz Third
The Texas Tribune ^ | March 6, 2016 | Patrick Svitek

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz was set Sunday to collect no delegates in Puerto Rico as Marco Rubio swept the territorial primary in his second win of the GOP presidential nominating race.

Rubio, Cruz's colleague in the U.S. Senate from Florida, was projected to win the under-the-radar contest with 74 percent of the vote, well above the threshold to take all 23 delegates at stake. With 41 percent of precincts reporting, Cruz was coming in third with nine percent and Donald Trump second with 13 percent.

The outcome is unlikely to change the Texas senator's argument that he is the most viable alternative to Trump, especially after a round of contests Saturday in which Cruz beat expectations and emerged with the most delegates of the day. Rubio's Puerto Rico victory follows a first-place finish Tuesday in Minnesota.

Rubio was seen as somewhat of a favorite to win Puerto Rico, where polling was hard to find in the lead-up to the primary Sunday. All three of the territory's superdelegates had already endorsed Rubio, who spent part of Saturday campaigning there....

Trump won 13 states. A win is a win. Cruz came in 3rd today with all the momentum. Haha.

Puerto Rico likes to get free stuff from Washington. Guess which candidate they think will give them the most free stuff from Washington or, more correctly, the taxpayers of America from whom Washington confiscates. If Puerto Rico was a state, the Democrats would win it by margins somewhere between DC and Massachusetts.

I saw Rubio on TV campaigning in Spanish. Would love to see the translation of the promises that got him 74% of the vote.
