Cruz team on Haley endorsement: ‘Rubio has to win here’

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Ted Cruz's campaign is trying to make the most of Gov. Nikki Haley's endorsement of Marco Rubio days ahead of the South Carolina primary: driving sky-high his political expectations here.

"If he doesn't finish first, this is a massive loss," Jason Miller, a senior Cruz adviser, said hours after news reports began circulating that Haley would endorse Rubio at a rally Wednesday evening. "Rubio has to win here."

Earlier this week, Jeb Bush had called Haley's endorsement "the most powerful, meaningful one in the state." Haley's backing of Rubio comes on top of the support of Sen. Tim Scott and Rep. Trey Gowdy, who cut a new radio ad for Rubio on Wednesday.

"He has the very popular sitting governor, very popular junior senator, very popular upstate congressman. He has every favorable position going for him that he could ever hope to have," Miller said of Rubio. "If Rubio can't win here, under these favorable circumstances, where can he win?"

Current polls show Rubio and Cruz battling each other for second place far behind South Carolina front-runner Donald Trump....

When I went to high school in Alexandria, drinking age in VA was 21, 18 in the district . Marco should be legal at the Georgetown bars anyway

Cruz and Rubio have unlimited cash. This has always concerned me vis-a-vis Trump. Cruz and Rubio have literally billions on demand from the bankers who received $700 billion transferred from taxpayers to them. From the globalists, cheap labor, open borders, H1B crony capitalists who have already contributed tens of millions to them. Cruz we know can get blank checks for millions with a phone call to his wife’s boss, Goldman Sachs. Both can be counted on for full amnesty for existing illegal aliens, plus can be counted on to continue bringing in the Trojan Horse of muslims, Syrians, Somalians, etc., and planting them throughout America as cells awaiting the high sign to attack. The budget just approved by the GOP Class of 2014 gave Obama 3 trillion to accomplish the remainder of the dirty deed. REPUBLICANS gave this money to Obama. If Cruz and Rubio couldn’t stop this, they need to be fired, not promoted. That’s how it works in the real world. The buck stops with the REPUBLICAN SENATE and the RNC and Reince Priebus.

How much cachet does Nikki Haley really have left in South Carolina these days?

THAT is definitely true.

I don’t begrudge this tactic either, for the record. This is a harmless “spin your way forward” part of the game that is impossible to avoid.

LOL.

I can’t stand her, but I’m not living there. To me, anything that reeks of GOPe is worthless.

I agree about all the dirty money, but take solace in the fact that Jeb once of had hundreds of millions to burn, too. :D

“Rubio has to win here.”

Neither of the Cubans will win there.

I just want to remind everyone of her response to the State of The Union speech. She was awful.

Rubio keeps winning endorsements from the pro-amnesty crowd. Wonder why?

Other than the fact that he comes across preachy, snaky, and looks like a goofball,he did pretty well.

According to Dana PeRino, Haley enjoys tremendous popular support in SC.

Dan PeRino ...you can't spell it without RINO.

She's an establishment hack, I hear.

PeRino is a Bush Family surrogate. The GOPe had to offer her something to keep her on the plantation now that they support Rubio/Kasich instead of Jeb.

If you want to know what the inside-the-beltway GOPe/Ruling Class are thinking just watch Dana PeRino on FNC. She is one of their #1 mouthpieces.

Yes we know..

Despite Cruz’s attacks on his party’s donor class and establishment, the Texas senator Ted Cruz’s GOP campaign has received $37 million from just four donors.

The Wilks family of Cisco, Texas, New York hedge fund tycoon Bob Mercer, Texas energy investor Toby Neugebauer and Illinois manufacturing moguls Dick and Liz Uihlein.

Dr Carson’s voters are NOT falling for Cruz’s dirty tricks again, in SC. They all know how Cruz operates from Iowa cheating.
