With conservatives across the country facing a critical decision whether to back Donald Trump, top radio talker Rush Limbaugh said Wednesday that true conservatives have no choice but to vote for Ted Cruz.
Limbaugh told his radio audience, "If conservatism is your bag, if conservatism is the dominating factor in how you vote, there is no other choice for you in this campaign than Ted Cruz...."
Limbaugh gave his powerful imprimatur to Cruz by adding, "This [Ted Cruz] is the closest in our lifetimes we have ever been to Ronald Reagan."
Cruz has finished first in Iowa caucuses, but performed, not unexpectedly, poorly in New Hampshire, coming in third place behind Trump and Gov. Kasich.
Now the election turns to South Carolina and a slew of southern states that will vote on Super Tuesday in March.....

Go Trump
Then you shouldn't take political advice from Donald Trump, because he's an entertainer.
I disagree with your assessment. He was never, in my humble opinion, advocating Rubio. He discusses the horse race honestly on a day to day basis. I feel he has been going out of his way to minimize his advocacy of Cruz all along (in fairness to the other candidates). Lately he has been tipping his hand more than usual at this early stage of the campaign. He understands the seriousness of this election and Cruz is his guy.
I see the Trumpeters are out in full swing..
I’m getting a kick out of the people here who condemn Rush for “backing Republican candidate a, b, or c” because he finds something good to say about most of them. Of course, when he finds something wrong, he is then “attacking them because Rush is _________(fill in the blank.)
Yesterday a poster declared he was not listening to Rush because he said good things about Rubio and thus was endorsing Rubio and self-declaring that Rush is a member of the GOP-E, I’m sure today another person will condemn Rush as being the “tool of ???” for seeming to endorse Cruz.
I don’t know whether to laugh, cry or just ignore these folks. Perhaps the last.
Conservatism is my bag.
Cruz is not my guy.
And Rush does not tell me what to do.
“l’ll be blunt. Rush can go f*** himself.”
FRee speech BUMP!
536 should be in prison.
TREASON - gave aid, comfort, country to foreign and domestic enemies. Made citizens debt slaves to out-of-control agencies mostly in executive branch.
“Socialism Is Legal Plunder” - Bastiat
They’re even running as candidates for president.
Sorry Rush, you are not seeing or hearing what is going on.
Mark Steyn...
Trump won because he put real-world issues on the table. Nobody needs to be told that he “isn’t a real Republican”. That’s the point of Trump. The Republican base loathes the Republican leadership far more than they love the vessel they’ve chosen to express their loathing.
You need to invite Mark Steyn in your studio or call him and turn the show over to him, and learn something.
Now Rush will be dead to many on FR. So many conservatives will be dead to them, the only people who won’t be are the liberals salivating to see the easily mocked Trump get the nod!
Plus, he is a nice guy? Did you really say that? That good old 19th amendment, the gift that keeps giving.
Cruz WOULD be my guy if he were running for Prime Minister of Canada.
I dont blame him for his reticence to endorse..
He likes to tease.. Probably why he has so many ex wives. ;-)
And now a word from our sponsor.. Notyourguy.com.. Again!
You're right, when you get right down to it, Rush is an entertainer first, pundit "so to speak" second.
The current problem with Rush is that he's going to lose a big part of his audience, not taking on board how much the "folks" are pissed at the inside-the-beltway politicians, even the ones in their first term in office. They've sold out and bartered their GOP credentials to the Obama, Reid, Pelosi, Kerry, Hillary crowd.
Is Limbaugh still on the radio???
Regan's political beliefs were forged over 69 years of living life--outside the Washington, DC bubble.
He was an actor, a salesman on TV, a union boss, a governor. He lived through an active, hot, desperate world at war. He knew loss through a failed marriage and redemption through a second. He had learned to manage and lead bureaucracies. He made mistakes and had the time to learn from them.
Ronald Reagan was not a young politician hell bent on the highest executive office in the land. When he reached the Oval Office he was a fully developed man with broad, hands-on experience in the private and public sectors--and he understood both.
Ronald Reagan was the real deal because he came to his political beliefs through a life fully-lived, not through political expedience. And as such, Ronald Reagan held an unflappable commitment to those beliefs.
To claim Ted Cruz is the closest to Ronald Reagan is not only an insult to Ronald Reagan, it is also an insult to rational, thinking citizens across the political spectrum,
Why yes he is and doing much better ever since all the Trumpsters quit listening to him. Even the radio smells better.
sniffing radios huh? new fetish i guess...Rush hasn’t been influential since 1992...if you know a lick about politics....and his schtick didn’t work then....You know crap nothing about Limbaugh....Heard him at the start in 1988....wanna tell me what happened in 1992 or do you wanna duck out and just call me names??? Come on big guy...Let’s hear it!
Rush divorced Rubio faster than one of his wives
