GOP establishment loses hope of winning Iowa, New Hampshire

HOLLIS, N.H. - After months of predicting a comeback for their preferred candidates, Republican establishment leaders now concede the first two contests of the presidential race, in Iowa and New Hampshire early next month, are Donald Trump's and Ted Cruz's to lose.

That leaves many GOP traditionalists, who fear each candidate would be a disaster in the November general election, pinning their White House hopes on a feat no Republican has pulled off in modern political history: securing the nomination without winning at least one of the first two states on the calendar.

It's a risky strategy at best, and party officials are hoping that weaker candidates will drop out before the South Carolina primary that follows New Hampshire, allowing voters to more easily coalesce behind an alternative to the billionaire real estate mogul and the Texas senator....

What’s funny is the calendar was set up for Yeb! to be the presumptive nominee by mid-March.
Trump is likely the beneficiary of their schemes.

Like Dole MacCain and Romney weren’t disasters??????

George W were barely wins too. We haven't won a Prudential election by a decent margin in two decades. Not sure what we are doing wrong but obviously we need to change our ways or we will never win a Presidential election again. That is why we need Trump.

I think the cats out of the bag and nobody realizes it yet. what both Trump and Cruz are proving is you don’t need the party to secure the nomination. I don’t know if that extends to the general as well but i think its a very good thing for this country. The old axiom about power corrupting has never been so true with the 2 party system. All the players have no interest in rocking the boat so we end up with all these politicians who see the system as nothing more than a means to power and wealth. Enough of the immoral bastards.

Marco lied to me when running for the Senate.
He stated he was against amnesty.
Got his sorry ass elected and within a few weeks became a member of the gang of 8 and started pushing amnesty.
Marco the liar can go to hell.
