Washington (CNN)--Count John McCain among the Ted Cruz birthers.

McCain says it's "worth looking into" whether Ted Cruz is eligible to run for president, since the Texas senator was born in Canada.

In an interview on Phoenix CBS affiliate KFYI, McCain said the questions raised by Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump over Cruz's eligibility are legitimate.

"I think there is a question. I'm not a constitutional scholar on that, but I think it's worth looking into. I don't think it's illegitimate to look into it," McCain said....

As much as McCain is a lifelong fool and living on the Earth with a gilded resume’, he is at the very least a NBC of the United States having actually not been the scion of a foreigner.

McCain says he was born on US territory, and thus qualifies through there. That said, I’ve heard it disputed and that he was not born in the Canal Zone or on base.

These people are “serving” in government and no nothing about
the laws in the US. Doesn’t he have access to an attorney
before he spouts off about something he is ignorant of.
Even the SCOTUS has ruled on this in the past.
Sheesh
No wonder we’re in such a damn mess.

I remember , it was big issue in 2008. McCain was questioned by conservatives and media matters on this issue.

The one thing that will lay all the questions about Cruz' eligibility to be President, is the actual birth certificate of his mother. Just because one says their mother was born in Delaware, does not make it so. At the time of Cruz' birth in Canada, his parents were both Canadian. His mother later claimed dual citizenship when they went to live in the U.S.A., saying she was born in Delaware. Simply finding the birth certificate of the mother will end all this speculation.

Personally, I don't think it matters. He's here, he's running, and he's loyal to our country.

Grover Cleveland’s father was Irish, his mother was American, and there were some claims he was born in Canada and the dispute was raised back then.

Charles Curtis, Vice-President under Herbert Hoover, was born of an American Father and an American Indian Mother in the Kansas territories.

This question of purity has been raised and dismissed many times over the years. The simple fact is that if you were born an American, you are eligible for the Presidency.

It’s almost like a parlor trick how the media has turned Obama’s eligibility completely around, and now ‘our guys’ are now under the microscope. We are being played like a fiddle. The kenyan or indonesian or whatever the hell he is completely got away with it. And the semi-amusing part is that Hillary started all this stuff way back when.

Maybe he can get a legally meaningless Senate Resolution like you did, McNuts.

Let us not forget that when McCain was running for president against Obama, the senate held a special hearing to determine McCain’s NBC status. It was during that senate hearing that democrat senators questioned both his birthplace AS WELL AS the nationality of BOTH of his parents (constitutional definition of Natural born citizen).

Let us not also forget that during the same time McCain was being tried for eligibility in the senate, there were multiple law suits already in the court systems in multiple states challenging the eligibility of Obama, who unlike McCain WOULD NOT RELEASE his birth certificate.

NOT ONCE!... did McCain EVER EVER EVER question why Obama was not being taken through the same process by the senate (which by the way is the only proper constitutional means of vetting a presidential candidate)

NOW.... he calls for a fellow republican’s eligibility status to be looked into????

If there was EVER any doubt as to McCain’s true loyalties, this story should put it to rest forever.

Yes McCain.. you are a true blue treasonous bastard.

seriously? at least i know TCruz is a US citizen. i’m fairly certain 0bama is not.

at his birth, stanley anne was 18 years old... too young to pass citizenship onto her son.

also, the US does not award citizenship based on being born on the soil, unlike Canada (one of the few countries to do so)

this leaves 0bama’s citizenship up to his father... who was kenyan.

the best i can tell, 0bama is a kenyan citizen with a questionable birth location.

I was going to write the exact same thing. McCain knows it’s bunk, as does Trump. Trump dismissed the whole thing in September 2015. McCain wants to let this bogus issue hurt Cruz so a less conservative candidate will win and run against Hillary.

McCain is a fraud. He hates Cruz for being honest and forthright, and for exposing he and his buds for the corrupt weasels that they are.

FUJM!

McCain was born in the US Canal Zone, on a US base (Coco Solo), to American parents. There was never any reason to doubt his citizenship and eligibility to run for president. His actions like this lame statement on Cruz show why he’s a failure as a conservative.

McCain says he was born on US territory, and thus qualifies through there.

Claiming the 14th Amendment anchor baby privilege, is he?

Except, oops, that would mean any Panamanian woman who dropped a baby on base would have birthed a natural born US citizen. Which is obviously false. LOL!

McPain is indeed a natural born US citizen. But it's because his parents were American. It has nothing to do with where he was born!

You need to educate yourself about anchor babies.

Canada and the United States, along with most or all of Latin America, grant birthright citizenship.
