The Family Leaderâs CEO Bob Vander Plaats spoke one on one with Breitbart News after he endorsed Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) for president, saying Cruz has the resources and infrastructure to win the GOP nomination, unite conservatives, and select a Vice President with characteristics that buy into his vision and agenda for the country.
Senator Cruz has the real ability right now to unite conservatives from the liberty wing of the party, from the Republican grassroots wing, from the Evangelical pro-family wing, to the limited government wing, so I think heâs going to bring a lot of factors of the party together and I think he is Hillary Clintonâs, frankly, her worse nightmare of tying to become president because I think heâs very gifted at winning persuasive debate and arguments.
âThe past two caucus winners I backed â Huckabee and Santorum â and I love both those guys, but after Iowa they just didnât have the infrastructure to go deeper into the race, so eventually got defeated by McCain and by Romney,â Vander Plaats told Breitbart News about his belief that Cruz cannot only win Iowa, but also has the resources to clinch the GOP nomination....

What these people are deluding themselves with is the idea that the same old same old group of people who helped Santorum win Iowa will help Cruz win Iowa. But the total number of Santorum caucusers, for example, barely matches the population of just one of Trump's rallies.
These people are running a tent-revival sort of campaign, with the same people who go to tent revivals, and while that might have worked in Iowa in the past, it's not going to work anymore.
Here is the Joker speaking to Bat-Trump, or TrumpBat:
Are you an adolescent?
No, because then otherwise I’d buy Vander’s nonsense.
He might be. He's right, for sure.
Well, his endorsements worked the last two times.
You expect the R’s to get behind a ticket without Trump after he’s maintained a lead this long?
Cruz is just one Trump speech away from dropping to 2% in the polls.
Just ask the other candidates.
The elections were boring as s*** the last two times, with really crappy Republican candidates who couldn't win the general. This is the first time we've had a real candidate with energy and charisma in a long time. Saint Rick and the Huckster were always doomed from the start.
Trump and Cruz are a tag-team.
Without Trump stirring the pot we would already have another Bush rammed down our throats.
Hahahahaha!
No, what they're deluding themselves with is the idea that a base candidate who is loathed by RINOs and who repels Democrats and Independents can be elected President.
Mike Lee for VP. Alan West will also work.
Also on immigration with Cruz telling folks that we'll find out what he wants to do with illegal aliens in the country only after we vote for him. Cruz sabotaged his "True/courageous/only/consistent conservative!" campaign pitch before the primary even started as a result. Now Cruz can't attack Trump directly as an "inconsistent" conservative because he is vulnerable on the same front.
Hey Vet- read a couple of articles today. Two “opposition” camps said that their internal polls show Cruz ahead-— and a US Senator who is backing Rubio (unnamed) said Cruz will win Iowa— just too strong on the ground.
Well, that's ALSO sorta true, definitely. A BASE candidate can win an election, but he has to be charismatic, he has to be someone people will like and can get behind. The public is like a woman, not as ideological as people imagine.
He sure doesn’t look or sound senile. Hint, he is cute, didn’t look old to me. Says Cruz has a titanium spine.
I think there will be shaking in the debate next week.
I agree with trump’s policies he copied from Cruz. Like him sticking to gope and msm. Cannot understand the blind faith and loyalty him, it is a match for Hillary’s supporters...
TO ALL THE POSTERS ON THIS THREAD:
Folks, you can be FOR Trump and NOT HATE Ted Cruz. I consider there to be two constitutional conservatives in the race, and ONLY two — Ted Cruz and Donald Trump. I support Ted Cruz but actually like Trump and most of what he says. If Trump wins the nomination, I’ll enthusiastically support him in the general election.
Don’t let your support for a candidate DERANGE you...keep your senses about you.
