GOP rhetoric on Muslims seen as having little cost

Some leading Republican presidential candidates seem to view Muslims as fair game for increasingly harsh words they might use with more caution against any other group for fear of the political cost. So far, that strategy is winning support from conservatives influential in picking the nominee.

Republicans are heartened by strong rhetoric addressing what they view as a threat to national security by Islam itself, analysts say. Because Muslims are a small voting bloc, the candidates see limited fallout from what they are saying in the campaign.

Actually it is a net plus for Trump & Carson with their clear agenda on Muslims in the United States.

When a so-called religious group is blowing up and killing people all over the planet I think everyone is gonna be a little concerned about them and want to know what their elected leaders are going to do to stop them. Stopping radical Islam is now being called racist rhetoric.

People are tired of having a muslim president, and there is a backlash.

Most Muslims, like most firearms owners, are good people.

News media reporting distorts the underlying reality.

The traditional immigration screening process shouldn’t be undermined.

What a pathetic trash article. The authors claim that defending the nation against a well-armed and utterly ruthless enemy is nothing but a cheap election ploy and it will work because that enemy’s allies in the U.S. are few in number.

Absolutely disgusting.

Another lame straw man argument from the parasite left. Conservatives believe in freely practicing all religions and have nothing against Muslims. Liberals are in denial about radical Islamic terrorists — all of whom are Muslims. We either kill them or they kill us. Regardless of political persuasion.

Voting blocks decide elections in close races.
In France, the liberal Hollande won because he got over 90% of the Muslim vote which was enough to squeeze him past his more conservative opponent Sarkosy.

Muslims are a bigger voting factor in Europe than in the US but time can change that.
That is something Obama and the Socialists (dems) want for the future of this country.- Tom

The “Bubba Factor” is starting to kick in.

Bubba doesn’t like Islam but he likes his guns.

Bubba sees a twofer in Obama & his Dem successor on those issues.

BTW, Obama has already gotten his two cents in about the Colorado shooting & how we need more gun control. The gift that keeps on giving.

Yesterday I happened to be in a part of town I once worked in a few years back, rounded a corner and there was a huge brand new mosque. While I was stuck at the pedestrian crosswalk in front, muslims were dribbled across the street in twos and threes, I have to admit for the first time I had a vague sense I was in less than friendly circumstances in my own backyard. Maybe it was my imagination but there was a certain in-your-face attitude by many of those I saw.

This thing will not play out well for us.

Maybe it’s because Americans have seen too many Muzzie beheading and massacre videos on YouTube.

You both need to study Islam a little more

John Quincy Adams on Islam

In the seventh century of the Christian era, a wandering Arab of the lineage of Hagar, the Egyptian, combining the powers of transcendent genius, with the preternatural energy of a fanatic, and the fraudulent spirit of an impostor, proclaimed himself as a messenger from Heaven, and spread desolation and delusion over an extensive portion of the earth. Adopting from the sublime conception of the Mosaic law, the doctrine of one omnipotent God; he connected indissolubly with it, the audacious falsehood, that he was himself his prophet and apostle. Adopting from the new Revelation of Jesus, the faith and hope of immortal life, and of future retribution, he humbled it to the dust, by adapting all the rewards and sanctions of his religion to the gratification of the sexual passion. He poisoned the sources of human felicity at the fountain, by degrading the condition of the female sex, and the allowance of polygamy; and he declared undistinguishing and exterminating war, as a part of his religion, against all the rest of mankind. THE ESSENCE OF HIS DOCTRINE WAS VIOLENCE AND LUST: TO EXALT THE BRUTAL OVER THE SPIRITUAL PART OF HUMAN NATURE.

Between these two religions, thus contrasted in their characters, a war of twelve hundred years has already raged. That war is yet flagrant; nor can it cease but by the extinction of that imposture, which has been permitted by Providence to prolong the degeneracy of man. While the merciless and dissolute dogmas of the false prophet shall furnish motives to human action, there can never be peace upon earth, and good will towards men. The hand of Ishmael will be against every man, and every man’s hand against him. It is, indeed, amongst the mysterious dealings of God, that this delusion should have been suffered for so many ages, and during so many generations of human kind, to prevail over the doctrines of the meek and peaceful and benevolent Jesus (Blunt, 1830, 29:269, capitals in orig.).

“We either kill them or they kill us.”

We can’t kill them in advance of their doing something wrong.

We can screen new arrivals well and strongly limit the annual numbers to help ensure successful assimilation is the general result.

In selecting immigrants, we should choose those that will be economically successful and can accept American society - which now allows homosexual legal unions and a strong support of Israel. We should probably let Europe take Muslims.

There are hundreds of millions of decent Muslims. There are also hundreds of millions of Muslims who would stone your daughter for going to the beach in a bikini. This is the reality we and the “good” Muslims have to live with.

There are at least 3 places in the Koran where Muslims are told by Allah not to befriend Kafirs like you and me.
Since their God doesn't like us, and wants Muslims to subjugate , convert, or kill us, I would not expect a practicing Muslim to have anything but contempt for us - and they do have contempt for us, and will go after us when the right time comes.

It's easier for them to do that when we are an arms length away. - Tom

No disrespect here, but I am curious as to what the Carson rhetoric and policy on “Muslims” is, actually?

I ask because of news reports Carson is or will fly somewhere outside the realm of politics critically important here in our homeland to see exactly what’s up with these Syrian Muslim Refugees over there somewhere.

Pretty simple to me and it doesn’t need some bragging ‘foreign policy’ show-trip overseas to establish an opinion. Hello? Paris? 12-15 verified ISIS, rabid Muslim Jihadis loose here - Obama wants 100K to 600K or a million more this last year of his tyranny?

The only thing I can say is thank God for the internet that has started to get people to buy their stuff online instead of getting crowded together in some mall so some Muslim puke could blow them away because he didn’t feel safe in Syria.

When small in numbers, Islam is painless. Only when it grows large enough, it will devour the host. Just like cancer. Countries with majority Muslim populations:

Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Egypt, Turkey,
Iran, Sudan, Algeria, Afghanistan, Morocco,
Iraq, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Yemen,
Syria, Kazakhstan, Niger, Burkina Faso, Mali, Senegal,
Tunisia, Guinea, Somalia, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan,
Sierra Leone, Libya, Jordan, United Arab Emirates,
Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Chad, Lebanon, Kuwait,
Albania, Mauritania, Oman, Kosovo, Gambia, Bahrain,
Comoros, Qatar, Djibouti, Brunei, Maldives, Palestine

The cost will be if the GOP does nothing. Muslims are evil and belong to a despicable cult. There is nothing good to say about Muslims.
