MACKINAC ISLAND, Mich. Back-to-back appearances on the main stage for Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Ohio Gov. John Kasich during Saturdays keynote lunch speeches at the Michigan Republican Leadership Conference provided contrast for how the two presidential hopefuls are approaching their races to the White House.
Speaking first during the packed Saturday lunch on the island, Cruz told the crowd of about 1,000 that if you see a candidate that Washington embraces, run and hide.
What followed was an audacious agenda the senator laid out for his very first day in office, including taking direct aim at President Obama by rescinding every single illegal and unconstitutional executive action taken during his administration.
The GOP candidate said a Cruz administration would ensure the persecution of religious liberty ends today, while also calling for a Department of Justice investigation into Planned Parenthood....

If Cruz does not become POTUS, I think the elected Republican POTUS could do more, faster, if when a liberal seat to the SCOTUS is open, to offer it to Cruz.
This would effectively make one of the three of the branches of the government conservative. And I mean real conservative, not the faux conservative of the Republican leadership. It would guarantee a minimum of 5-4 conservative majority on every decision. And justice Kennedy could kiss off.
Probably next year, Ginsburg will step down, so Obama can appoint her successor.
She will be following the election closely.

Interesting idea. There are others more qualified to sit on the SCOTUS. Ted would make a better president. I would like to see Rudy Guiliani become Attorney General tho.
Not even McConnell is stupid to allow a SC appointment to go through before the election.
If Trump wins, I hope Cruz is either his VP or is his nominee for SCOTUS. He’s got to be something important.
