In June, I was asked to be prepared to give a presentation on Ted Cruz for a meeting on July 7. As I went about my initial research into this man now running for the Republican nomination for president, I realized that there was a lot of information available. Much of it has to do with positions on the issues of our time while some being quite negative.
In the end, it seemed like a better idea to try to predict how this man would behave if ever elected to be our president. To begin, young Cruz grew up under his father, Raphael Bienvenido Cruz, a Cuban born and raised man who, as a young man, had actually helped Fidel Castro. As soon as Castro took power, however, in 1959, Raphael began to see him as much worse than the former dictator, Batista, and was thrown into prison for speaking against Castro. As a result, he left Cuba and enrolled in the University of Texas. These experiences were related to his son, Ted, as he was growing up.
During high school, young Ted, became involved with a Houston-based group called the Free Market Education Foundation where he learned about free-market economic philosophers such as Milton Friedman, Friedrich von Hayek and others. Along with three other high school classmates, he then gave presentations around the state of Texas for various groups. These presentations focused on free market capitalism, the US Constitution and other related subjects and was to inform his aspirations for the future.
Later, at Princeton University, he graduated cum laude with a BA in public policy. His senior thesis was titled, "Clipping the wings of angels" and was a discussion on the separation of powers doctrine.
After graduating from Princeton, Cruz attended Harvard Law School graduated magna cum laude with a Juris Doctor degree. According to one of his professors, Alan Dershowitz, Cruz was, "off-the-charts brilliant." While at Harvard, like Barack Obama, Cruz served as editor of the Harvard Law Review. Unlike, Obama, Cruz wrote actual law reviews.
Even now, Ted Cruz will tell you that he tries to live by these two rules: "Tell the truth and do what you said you would do."
Conservative review.com rates Ted Cruz as having the best overall scores on conservative issues of all the candidates now in the race for the Republican nomination for president.
After spending many hours of research into the candidates while reviewing the words they say versus what they actually do, the promises they make and keep, and trying to get into their heads as much as is possible to predict future performance, I believe that what you see here is as true and accurate as is possible.
I urge all conservative people to support this man; he could make a big difference in guiding our nation back to the founding principles of individual responsibility, free-market capitalism, small government, the rule-of-law, and the Constitution.

One thing for sure, when the media lefties try to paint a picture of Cruz as not smart, they are saying more about themselves than him.
