Liberals Who Love Huckabee: I used to be one of them. I still sort of am.
National Journal ^ | June 5, 2015 | Bob Moser

I thought I could quit him. I swear I did. From the first time we met, in Iowa in 2007, Mike Huckabee was nothing but trouble, unsettling my fixed ideas, seducing me into pooh-poohing some of my staunchest convictions. The man was never really my type—the farthest thing from it—but you know how that can make an attraction stronger. Forbidden love and all that. Most of my friends, of course, never approved. He's not like the rest of them, I'd protest. When he says he hates Wall Street and wants to build infrastructure, he means it. He's a Republican poking holes in trickle-down economics! My friends tended to look at me either with gentle pity or the kind of withering scorn I might have expected if I announced I'd taken a new job as Dick Cheney's speechwriter.

But then, after the campaign, Huckabee broke up with me. He got rich and famous from Fox TV, wrote best-sellers catering to the prejudices of his conservative fans, built a decidedly unpopulist seaside mansion in Florida, even endorsed miracle cures for cancer and diabetes. He said meaner and meaner things about queer folk like me, and—perhaps foreshadowing his recent, now-infamous defense of the fundamentalist Duggar family—grew even less reasonable in his overall approach to the culture wars. All the while, he was tamping down his iconoclastic, good-government message—and sounding more and more like a standard-issue Republican railing at "big government."(continued)

Many Liberals/Progressives LOVE the Huckster “on the downlow”. And they love him for HOW he governed. Instead of the conservative that he pretends to be, when given the opportunity he pardoned Murderers, he came up with his version of the DREAM ACT and “he’d denounced a bill to deny health services to illegal immigrants—floated by a fellow Baptist minister—as “race-baiting” and had helped defeat it”.

If Huckabee would somehow miraculously get the nomination and subsequently win the general election, he would quickly “come out of the (progressive) closet” upon assuming office. And while promoting progressive agenda items, he would still try to fool the gullible (like the grifter he is) into thinking he was conservative

Sounds like this person loved Huckabee because he didn’t know Huckabee. There are certain voters who vote on personality.

That seems to be a problem with Conservative voters. They go for some who do not deserve their votes.

Please research your choices... Not that it matters these days, as most voters seems to go by party rather than the person running for office.

I have not decided who I am voting for this time. Thank you for your advice. The author is a liberal, not a conservative.

I like Huckabee. He is refreshingly articulate. I am not going to fight a zillion posters over Huckabee tonight. If people don’t like my opinion, ignore it.

LOL! Gomer, "articulate"?

I'll bet you voted for Obama too (twice) for the same reason.

There are certain voters who vote on personality.

They are often called "women."

Huckabee is PERFECT for liberals. He let a felon out of jail that then went to Washington State and promptly killed the first 4 cops he saw. To liberals, actions like that help ‘liberate’ blacks from the police.

The author is a man. So wander off onto a tangent of slamming women voters if you want. It doesn’t apply here. Unless “Bob” used to be Brenda. You never know with today’s new “normal.”

Good luck with that strategy of slamming women voters in support of a general election.

Your post is too ridiculous to bother with.
